Staredit Network -> Serious Discussion -> 4 year old dies from a Disney world ride...

If it really was the parent's fault, i doubt they would tell us that they forced their son onto the ride.

Does it matter? I'm sure they really meant for him to die. /sarcasm. It was an accident. Very sad, but with what the parents knew about the ride (the requirements), what problem is there?

Usually, these DIsney World theme parks' target audiences would be little kids. They probably thought they had no reason for not letting their child ride on the ride.

That's pretty offensive, and i hope you wern't aiming that at me, especially since it got nothing to do with the child's death.

That's what i want to know, was it the either of the parent's fault? They possibly could've forced the boy to go on the ride, or make him feel like he has to.

If your religious, (And assuming you believe in god's plan) then it has EVERYTHING to do with the child's death. I know, it's offensive to me as well. That's why I said it. Letting people die just because of "God's plan." Makes me want to throw up.

Parent's fault? Who cares, there are people getting murdered on the street right now as we speak. Look, I can sense a 5 year old boy waking up out of a broken car right now, seeing his entire family dead beside him, all thanks to a drunk driver. Where is THAT child's sympathy? Where is THAT child's thread?

And IF you guys do decide to place the blame on the parents, how will that really prevent any more deaths to children? You could save so many more lives if you targetted drunk drivers instead. And not only place blame on them, but try to stop them.

Yea, and since this is a kiddie theme park, there's absolutely no reason to blame parents for letting kids ride on these rides.

Kiddie theme park with a heigh minimum of 44 inches? 4 year old kid that tall?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Snake)Ling on 2005-06-18 at 16:25:01
Yeah, seriously, the kid must've had some sort of defect.

I wasn't even 44 inches tall till I was about 7 and a half.

Well, I hate Disney and little kids so.. all I can say is, American parents suck, but I hope this closes down Disneyworld. Megaconglomerate bastards.

I never liked Disneyworld. They charge so much so we can see guys dressed up in oversized animal costumes and other people having fun.

You are aware that you are insulting every american right? Because that close-minded statement made me angry. man, i know alot of american parents are IDIOTS!!! But saying ALL is just plain stupid.

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic. Then again, maybe he's right.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2005-06-20 at 11:43:52
Well he isn't Canadian or from any other anti-USA countries. He's from New Jersey (based on the members map) so guess he was being sarcastic in a way.

Otherwise we could have his head hung for treason wink.gif

I'm guessing he meant it the same way people do when they say "Apples are delicious". Sure, a few suck, but for the most part they are. You can't assume people mean ALL of something when they refer to a group. Seriously, you learned this in English class.

New Jersy? No, I placed it wrong. PA.

No. I just don't know maps well.

You should at least know where your state is on the map biggrin.gif

jk, it's cool.

What if the death was unrelated to the ride?

Sometimes people just, well, die, and this was the first and only death on Mission: Space.

I bet that family was upper class or just not making a good decision to "waste" money on a trip to Disneyworld, especially with a 4 year old. Even with that argument, "oh it doesn't matter if he remembers it, he still haves fun" I still think it's a waste. Whats the point of feeling anything if you won't remember it?

Also, I seriously don't think a ride like Mission Space is an actual "kiddie" ride. That's like saying a big rollercoaster is a kiddie ride.

If the thing is going so fast you can't even talk correctly, as someone else pointed out, to the point you couldn't speak clearly then that definitely isn't a kiddie ride closedeyes.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2005-06-20 at 23:21:08
I guess it would make the feel kids feel bad if their parents did not let them ride on rides in a theme park specially designed for little kids.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-06-20 at 23:59:01
I think all this kiddie ride stuff doesn't apply to EPCOT. It's different from Disneyworld isn't it? It's not all the people dressed in big costumes of disney characters. Epcot is different from Disney. Instead of a height minimum of 44 inches, in a kiddie theme park it would be height maximum closedeyes.gif

Im guessing you didnt go to EPCOT.

Idk, maybe I did, I'm one of those people that went there when I was 5 years old and don't remember a damn thing closedeyes.gif The only thing I know about Epcot is that big sphere thing.

But aren't the rides at Epcot more hightech or something.
