Sequals count?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Red2Blue on 2005-08-27 at 03:45:23
You may not release any maps prior to the UMS thingy? Whats that about;;??

Clan aEp members are waived the entry fee as they'll be paying me what they have to help sponsor the tournament.

6,200 minerals to go.

And a thanks to Mp)Sniper for donating 100 minerals towards the cause.

Wth? So I just gave you 100 minerals for free? I mean donated *cough* *cough*?

There should be thanks to everyone who 'donated' wink.gif

Lol, if we can remember everyone tongue.gif All this goes to show how many people really care about their minerals
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Heimdal on 2005-08-27 at 09:45:36
Well, I'm using old ideas, but I'm starting the maps from scratch. Is that OK?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TheOddAngel on 2005-08-27 at 09:52:33
I dont know if this was asked but...

Can we have Public Beta's Or Only Closed Betas? Or None...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Heimdal on 2005-08-27 at 10:33:49
Yeah, I just realized that too...how are we supposed to test the map if we can't "release" it?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2005-08-27 at 10:36:02
Who the Hell said that? I just don't want to see it before I judge it. Release it if you want. Every map is valid as long as it was started on July 16, 2005, or later.

*Edit* Notice that is like the only requirement. Old ideas are ok. Sequels are ok. I just want new maps. Oh, another requirement is that it has to be your own. wink.gif

And if you want to talk about donations and whatnot, there is a nice little thread in the Clan aEp forums to do so.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Vibrator on 2005-08-27 at 12:08:43
Fela, I said that we would prefer for them not to release their maps, we still need 2 judges and we don't know who they will be. Advanced knowledge on a map could throw off equality. But you can test the map, just don't publicly release it.

P.S. the 10 minerals i send go along way....plz add to pot uberwoot.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2005-08-27 at 17:14:51
All donations after we reach the base 7,500 will go towards the pot. I believe we have 11 participating people as of now, 13 if Tux and Heimdal join in. I want at least 50 people to participate. Also, I may change (extend) the deadline if I am too busy to judge.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Cnl.Fatso on 2005-08-27 at 17:39:20
Well. The concept behind my map is down on paper, so I'm ahead of schedule. I don't expect to win this tournament, but what the hell? It's only a hundred minerals.

EDIT: Well, plus the extra hundred I'm donating for the pot.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Simulant on 2005-08-27 at 18:01:40
I dont really care if you extend the due date. It would help the pot grow even larger. Plus it would give everyone more time to make up concepts. uberwoot.gif
P.S.=gave all 160 something minerals to support uberwoot.gif

Fourth Place: 400 minerals
Fifth: 350
Sixth: 300
Seventh: 250
Eighth: 200
Ninth: 150
Tenth: 100

I'm in.

Oh gee dear golly. *makes map*

Single player ones are fine too, right? I'd be very sad if I spent approximately ten thousand hours on a map only to find out that I couldn't give you minerals. cry.gif

So yeah, better safe than sorry.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Simulant on 2005-08-28 at 10:50:24
What about a good old quality tag map? lolz...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Vibrator on 2005-08-28 at 11:51:28
It doesn't really matter how many players the map is, single player is fine.

If you want, you can kill the entry fee and refund everyones money. I'll pay the winning mineral fees.

A lot more communities other than this one are interested, and its unfair to have it "SEN only entry fee" kindof a thing. I'm not trying to get more users here, im trying to get more map makers everywhere.

I'll probably enter... I don't get the organization aspect of scoring, though. Why does it matter how my triggers are organized? It doesn't matter how I design the map to work, its that it DOES work and works well.

We could do that, mabye we will keep the minerals and put them in pot tongue.gif (As long as most people agree anyway)

Read the original news post the actual scoring is in there.

We hit our mark head on. I'm almost as rich as Yoshi himself now! The entry fee is hereby rescinded, and if anyone wishes to have a refund (that they paid), feel free to ask.

Total: 100 points
Gameplay: 40
Originality: 25
Environment: 20 (includes terrain and effects)
Organization: 15 (triggering and neatness)

Fela.. really everoyne lieks the old system more. It was fair to everyone because it balanced all points of a map.
