I feel like redoing the entire map. I think I rushed through it too fast, and it feels like things are unsorted. When I make maps, i work through them slowly to sort the triggers out so it will be easy to use the triggers for in-game action. To me, it feels like something's missing. I don't want to restart, I want to get the Silent Cartographer finished. But, if I release the demo, I want to put the carry two weapons only idea aside. Then I would remake it from scratch keeping the storyline intact and most of the layout.

Ive thought of multiple ways for the holding two weapons and saving the amount of ammunition you have. I thought of a few successfull ways, but it feels like it wont work from how I've made the map. So, if i restart, just bear with me. To me it will be more sorted, and more faster to complete.

Ok i will say it simple as i can: On the halo game you can get into warthogs right? but then i started thinking: well how am i going to have 2 or 3 people in? and then i relised it was simple: When the first player gets in (The driver) he takes controll of the tank (or vulture or wateva unit it is) and he does the moving, the second player that gets in (gunner) could gain controll of a floor gun trap or a flying scout that follows the tank (or vulture) around! is that any easyer?

yea actually that would work. If theres no marine in the back of the warthog manning the gun then the scout will just follow the tank and not fire, etc you get my idea

Or peazel, you could use LegacyWeapons "Perfect" Ammo system, using EUD's that detects each time you SHOOT (By detecting Cooldown). Much better ammo system then kill = -1 ammo. And you can play a nice WAV after each shot.

Also, i'm really looking forward to this map. So if you decide to redoing some parts just make sure you dont give up, because it's looking really good so far.

This kinda reminds me of the Halo map I'm making... But mine has a money system so you can upgrade and hire marine reinforcements. Mine also has a base ship, usable covenant weapons and Halo 2 weaponry, and a storyline that only uses characters and weapons from Halo 2. So pretty, much, I made a map about what would happen if a UNSC ship smashed into the hull of a Covenant ship with a Prophet onboard. The first and only person to comment on it just told me flat out: "No screenies? It sucks." Well, good luck on this.

Well, ill research into that later on after the demo is complete. Im sure people want to see a demo as soon as possible. I wont add that to the demo, because thats just stacking up features to add. Anyways, i hope that perfect ammo system is easy to make and use.

I just finished reading the Halo: The Fall of Reach novel today, so I'm learning more on the Halo universe as well as making it happy.gif

And that idea about the warthog is good. Ill see about it after the demo is released.

I hope you balance out the units correctly, as in your marines are pretty tough and powerful in groups, but when alone they easily are cut down.

I also hope you have different units while in game, like "Pilot with Pistol" or something to that extend.

I can't wait to see what you do with ze flood.... o.O

never thought bout flood, but one thing that might be hard to do is the transformation, on halo 2 (and one but you rarely see it) you can see flood infect ALIVE marines and watch em turn infront of ur eyes! (they kinda implode into themselfs and become a combat form) so how are you gonna do that? (and p.s, make it so that sniper does NO damige to flood, as it dsnt in da game)

Hey guys. I am rather sorry to say this. But I wanna restart this entire map. Its because I never actually planned it out. Or I rushed a plan that wouldn't work. As i said earlier on about me being stalled frequently to the idea for the weapons. I lacked the plan. I have NOT lost motivation or morale, its just I'm not happy the way im working on this, and not happy on how much i stall.

Maybe some of you are dissapointed, but its not the end. Trust me. Being a little busy and all in life really consumes time. And during this week I only got to work on the map alittle bit. There wasen't much time to figure how to organise it all. But, now this is my last week from study, I'll have a whole month free to do as I wish. And its the perfect time. Trust me, if I have it organised, I'll get through it alot quicker. I had the same problem in Resident Evil: Tag. And a few of you noticed that I quit making that map. Then about half a year ago I restarted on it. And there was ALOT to be done and I gave word it would be done in two days. I was correct, because i replanned it. Its just my method of working on maps.

Believe me, I never stopped making this map. All I need to do is restart it, replan it for future idea's and features. I am more comfortable restarting it than working on it as it is. So don't think of anything bad. wink.gif

Humans are powerful when in groups. But they are weaklings individualy. It says so in the book. And the flood, well. Lets say I've got a little secret.

The flood will be hard, and master chief has an shield... how would you work that out?
master chief battles in the ship, fights his way through the escape pod, then he starts finding marines to be evacced. Then he goes into a covenant ship to rescue keyes. Then he goes to find the silent cartographer and to the control room. Then he goes to the flood gate, then he goes to the moniter warped place with the index, then to the covenant cruiser with the hole in it, then to the crashlanded pillar of autumn. ALL of THIS wont fit in ONE map.

shield is easy... yea well he doesnt need to exactly go with 1 story line... or he can make multiple maps or just one of his fav part..

Anyways, here are some key points why I wasent happy with the original:
