I woudlnt reccomend having it in stages chris. I just really have too many reasons against it to list. Mainly because i feel it takes away alot from gameplay. But thats just my spin.

Thanks, as of right now the main map is being sluggishly worked on because for 1, I am pretty lazy and 2 I had lost a little interest in it, but now that I have got that interest back I work very fast (when I started everything that you see only took about 2 days!).

I also started messing around with some beach landing terrian, nothing new, Im sure people have done stuff like this.

As you can see some of the bunkers are cutt off becuase no room in picture for them lol. The windows are null and the idea is to have invisible bunkers with marines inside shooting at an observer or something. So it looks like the actual terrian bunker has units inside shooting out of it. Just an idea and Im sure its triggerable. I here now pantent that idea! lol.

There are also some paths up the bluff and 2 forward mortar open roof bunkers with tunnels running up the bluffs to bunkers.

Ok so I decided to make the beach terrian I was messing around with into a full on defence map. Humans are the Germans who must defend the beachhead from te computer AI charging up the beach. Here are a few screens, and yes the bunker is actually firing and the firing is not a sprite although the gun mount behind the flare from the guns are sprites.

You can see I had to take a lot of screens to catch the bunkers firing lol. I wanted both to be firing at the same time lol, didn't catch it.

u should really add a realistic 88's
its a ion cannon which shoots nothing out but explodes in random places. i am going to do this in my D-Day map. its pretty awesome.

I finnaly decided to gather enough curisioty to explore this topic, and it looks nice ;D

I seriously hope you blow away DLK's attempts at this, because during my American History class today, I opened my book accedently to D-Day, and saw this invasion. And the terrain in the screen shot on page 1 looks excatly like the book O.O

So yea, relism counts when you can make it fun too :D

hey thanks yeah, so I redid the terrian at Utah beach becuase there wasn't a "Bluff" entirely over looking the beach, but more like a small hill.

Also I noticed a BIG inaccuracy..... Point Du Hoc..... cry.gif Its in the wrong spot cry.gif

I thought it was inbetween Utah and Omaha by itself (not connected to either) and sorrounded by water. If you look at the main mini map screen shot you will see an arrow head sort of terrian sticking out in the middle of the map inbetween Omaha and Utah beaches.

Well Point Du Hoc is actually on the Omaha side of normandy and the very left end of it....

So I need a vote, the map works GREAT where Point Du Hoc is and ties together great.

So, leave Point Du Hoc where it is?

or

Move it to the historical location.

Mind you the difference between the two locations is just across a river, it would still just be a hassal to move.

Yea at the moment the airborne is totally rigged on accident. My bad lol I will fix it.

So during that battle the only effective soldiers I had were 4 MG42 crews (Hydras). When I told them to turn into lurkers they burrowed into a lurker and a "sand bag" unit is placed ontop. Once you kill the sand bag the lurker dies.

The MG42 crews are very deadly and almost impossible to kill when group with each other and with other units.

So yea lets get comments rolling!
