Exactly, Mill, the Null, LD, and SD forums are major parts to SEN, them going down does effect SEN.
And if you haven't noticed, SEN's mapping is going down, as you inferred in your previous posts.

It only affects a part of SEN (maybe a huge part), but not the whole site. Don't forget this site isn't only about those forums (as I've already mentioned many times.) When you guys say "SEN is going down," you're referring to the site as whole. Maybe you guys should reword that phrase and if you guys do, then I rest my case.

I'm saying Maybe it is or maybe it isn't. If you wish to discuss on that issue, take it somewhere else because that's pretty irrelevant to what this topic is mainly about.

Guys, words don't mean as much as actions. You should realize that now. The hopefuls can claim that SEN isn't degrading all they want, but that doesn't mean that it isn't.

Actions. What are you to define what actions are what? What actions were presented? Sure words are worthless, but it's the spirit that exists in the words that make them so important.

And YOU should remeber that the site isn't only about Maps and Map Making, it's about making friends. It just so happens that one of the biggest parts of friendly map making has turned into a one way ticket to a flame fest and immaturity. Here's an extremeist point but try to get the relation and not the scenrio:
America is a big place, now let's say that THE ENTIRE WEST SIDE, goes corrupt and approves gang violence and people are dying and stealing stuff in the entire West side of america. You can't just say "But the east is ok, so America is perfectly fine and isn't going down at all".
SEN is one big package, you really have to see just how big the "Other" section is on SEN. If it were to disappear I guartee you that around 60% of the active members wouldn't post here anymore. You might not like that that's how it is, but that IS how it is. So I hope you understand how large the Other section is. It's not a "side area" anymore, it's part of SEN itself. It's where you meet the people, know how they act, who has a sense of humor and who's serious a lot of the time. Without that you might as well strip down the fourms completely and just have the DLDB with comments being the most chatter you can have between members.

Imo, that would be great! Nuke the "Other" section.

Fundamentally it's still a mapping site. If you want to make friends, go to Myspace.com or something.

That would work except people would just talk about random stuff in Lite Discussion, Freelancer, or some other forum.

The problem is, you people are talking about the 'other' forums like they are only Null, L and SD. What about the other forums, do those need to have a post cap on them?

The whole "OMG SEN QUALITY DOWNHILL" thing really annoys me. It's not something I've really noticed.

All I remember is that I joined the site and became an active poster because of the pwnage concepts section. The concepts section still pwns all the other sections, and Deathknight still manages to [topic=25484]churn out tricks[/topic].
Then I tried to make a map (again), I miserably failed, but learned a lot about map making in the process of planning it (I still have the notebooks).
Next I spent time whoring the forums, I'd post in map making assistance and "Garbage" a lot (remember the old names). I remember some quite interesting topics there, I guess their disappearance is what people are complaining about. I don't blame this on the stupid masses, but rather the retirement of Kame, Yoshi, etc.
Then the whole EUDs thing exploded, and that was huge. The news forum could easily suck up my entire day. Remember how we had 3 news posts in one day.

Then Yoshi left (and others), EUDs were patched, and I stopped posting frequently. I don't really see how these supposedly existing "immature invaders" has to do with anything.

I see Tux is back... I sent him an email a while ago, he responded, then I sent him a very important follow up email and he never got back to me.

I'm going to go yell at him about that now.

Nuking the other section would be nuking me, and a lot of SEN, who enjoy Starcraft, and maybe not mapping.

Honestly, what would be the point of "nuking" the other forum?

I'm guessing you haven't made any friends over SEN, and if you have you obviously couldn't care less if you knew them or not. SEN is a COMMUNITY, people bond and chat together and have good times, or at least they use to. But now since there are a lot of flammers (apparently) they can't make friends as easily. I'm sure all fourms started out with an original purpose that they would do well in. The null and other fourm is an expansion of SEN yes, but it's a big expansion, and to throw it all away would be a big setback for the website. Not that you give a rat's azz.

Bonding and chatting is fun.

SEN will never die. There are too many people here that care about this site, including me. I come on here at least once per day or more. Though in the past I have been more active, now I just mainly stick around Oo forums. But I think all of that is going to change, since I feel like I want to get back in my old groove of posting in Maps In Production. I have always been behind SEN 100% all the time, no matter how much the mods/admins might like/dislike me. Just like you said MA its like a drug, you keep on coming back for more. Thats my attitude towards SEN, though my look on Starcraft is diminishing, SEN will always be here. cool1.gif

@Dorkhawk: No EUD conditions were not patched. A fair amount of them still work, and the ones that don't just have the offsets scrambled due to another fix that happened during the patch. The new offsets are very easy to find.
