Do keep in mind that CFCs are banned and that we are coming out of an ice age meaning temperature is rising naturally also.

Hole in the O-Zone

This actually has nothing to do with global warming and is a separate issue. CFC gases that pollute the air act as a catalyst in reactions with ozone.

"CFCs kill off ozone" == "Hole in the ozone" == "Global Warming" you stupid motherfarker

QUOTE(Zordon)
Those "harmfull chemicals" are not light enough to reach the ozone layer. It's a proven fact.

"Harmful Chemicals == CFCs

Do you even farking read, fool?

Edit: WTF! Where the fark did the word D U M B A S S go?! Replaced by fool?

Is there some sort of swear filter for this site or something? What in the name of christ is up with that stupid shiz?

Whoever made this filter is retarded. At least make the words sound like the words they farking cut out or something.

"Ozone can be destroyed by a number of free radical catalysts, of which the most important are hydroxyl (OH), nitric oxide (NO) and atomic chlorine (Cl) and bromine (Br). All of these radicals have both natural and anthropogenic (manmade) sources. At the present time, most of the OH and NO in the stratosphere is of natural origin, but human activity has dramatically increased the chlorine and bromine. These elements are found in certain stable compounds, especially chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), which may find their way to the stratosphere and there be liberated by the action of ultraviolet light"

" it is calculated that a CFC molecule takes an average of 15 years to go from the ground level up to the upper atmosphere"

They are the main source of the problem. And they will make it to the top of atmosphere.

Hole in the ozone = harmful radiations do not get filtered = skin cancer. Not extra heat. How the hell does that relate to the earth warming up? It may in some ways, but its not global warming.

Its seperate, please go learn some facts before you speak. You just know how to cuss at the moment.

"Although they are often interlinked in the mass media, the connection between global warming and ozone depletion is not strong."

It's true, CFCs don't cause global warming, they cause a hole in the ozone.

Green house gases are the cause of an increase in temperature, such as Carbon Dioxide, which is produced as a by product of burning fossil fuels.

If that's the case, then Global Warming should have happend AGES ago.

It is the case, look it up. However, Photosynthesizers reduce Co2 levels, but we're cutting down trees, building more factories, and driving more cars.

Global warming is a slow and long term effect. It has been happening for a while, we are beginning to reach the noticable effects now however.

Are you stupid? The earth has global warming every single year you twit.

What in the fark do you think a season is, eh? It's the earth changing it's axis to allow the earth to get colder and warmer.

Ever heard of the Ice Age?

If it's such a "long term affect", then why the fark did we have an Ice Age eh? And why are the eastern states of the USA being bombarded by horrible storms if the earth is "warming"?

Burdon of proof is on you.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Global warming doesnt only lead to heat, it can lead to storms and floods too.

In the ice age we didnt have cars did we? We didnt manufacture green house gases did we?

I am personally of the belief that the world goes through heating and cooling cycles. Although the temperature of cities has gone up, the temperature of rural areas has gone down over the last 100 years. How do you explain that?

If you want to test to see if global warming is happening for yourself, go to this link:

http://bbc.cpdn.org/

It's a climate model which goes from 1920-2081 (I think), which runs in the background on your computer, can be used as a screensaver and gives a graphical representation of climate change.

that is different. We now have billions of cars in society, which produce CO2 at much greater efficiencies.

It's true the Earth goes through cycles of extremes becuase of the amount of energy the sun gives off.

However to maintain a constant temperature a planet must have an atmosphere of greenhouse gases to trap heat. This is basic Earth Science people.

The controversy is: Are WE increasing the temperature or is it natural (Since we ARE in an ice age receding time).

How old are you? Seasons have nothing to do with this, global warming means ALL the time. Spring, Summer, Fall, AND Winter are all warmer. Greenhouse gases are part of deep time (time over millions of years) which means it doesn't happen over night and eastern states of the USA are being bombarded by storms becasue of a phenomenon called hurricanes having to do with the intertropical convergence zone which moves with the position of the suns rays.

Now, stop calling us retards because we're stating things you don't know.

fortunately, the internet does not permit transmittance of hot air

and i think human-made contributions (as in industry, cars, etc) to co2 gases in the atmosphere is only a very small fraction

Actually humans contribute 75% of pollution to the atmosphere.

Oh really? It's getting warmer? Why id it that my home town has reached a new low in weather then eh? -15? That's getting warmer, when the lowest degrees used to be -1 or -2?
