The Mayan civilization predicted that on December 21, 2012 something will happen to the world we know. Something will happen that will change our civilization, value systems and the way we know human civilization forever.

I don't really find that a plausible theory... although there has been limited research into the parallel universe theory... but not enough to do any sort of "time research".

well, it probably wont. indiadaily apparently is a joke as far as i can tell...half their articles are on UFO's, and they claim that a reversal of the magnetic field has been CALCULATED. The truth is, scientists have been studying the magnetic field since the 1800's and they still have no clue wtf is going on with it. yes, there are some unusual disturbances with it in the past hundred years or so. but that happens. saying otherwise is like saying that the ocean never has tsunamis. but, they definently havent predicted any date. scientists doubt that recent disturbances will acualy turn into anything at all, will just vanish and be forgotten.

According to something that I saw on TV, the Mayans made ten predictions, and nine of them have come true so far, the end of the world being the last one (I forgot what they were, exactly, but I think one of them was a design for a nuclear reactor or something). I don't know what to expect.
