Early yes i guess it is only time can tell what happens because we change our minds everyday and think up new things.

Bolt: Is der people around? Like you can talk to? Like in silent hill how you run into some people and tell you stuff and run into them later on?

Supply Depots? Something other than flags, because I don't think it's a very belivable barricade.

Dude barricade not big as depot + that just ugly need something small n simple =/

Edit: Spirtes cant be removed? thought were removed soon u opened map in x-tra editor =/ maybe i am wrong.

A police barricade isn't much of a barricade. Im talking about the yellow ribbin stuff that says "police line" I was thinking of the possibity of allowing people to slip though (only to meat some scary death of course)

The crystlis mark the doors to the buildings.

Crysalis for a door? I don't like that ethier. If theres an alternative somewhere, I say use it.

I’m open for suggestions, I don’t really think I want to use a sprites (although there is one over almost every door anyways). I also don’t want to use a doodad door (too big)

I like the fact that I can give the unit a name, everyone will know what the door is. (im surprised you didn’t. the terrain is already different and if it was noticeable it would stand out too much I think.

There are 7 buildings.

Well, it's just that crysalis is too... Zergie... Maybe crystals would be better, not sure.

If I don't come in contact with Vala soon I might think about scraping Darkened, if I do I could give you some ideas I was going to keep to myself.

One idea I had was for items, you see it would work like this:

You have a dropship inventory with a limited number of item slots (8, duh) bigger items would have a bigger unit to take up more spots, kinda like RE. And I had an idea for like a toggle to drop an item or pick up items, so you could give a med pack to a hurt friend or something, or drop some useless items for something that you need.

I had other ideas, but I'm not sure how useful they would be for your map.

I'm considering using items, i'm not sure if i want to have a drop ship. (if i have any med packs they will be extreamly limited)

The reason for this is because medpacks are a system of relief and will calm the player down if he is afraid of an attack. Maybe have players carry keys, I'm considering having them carry a flashlight with a rechargeable battery.

If a building has no power you could quickly send them to an area to be blinded, and if they have a flashlight and use it then they could be sent back and be restored. Here are some item ideas...

Possible Items -

Keys

First Aid

Ammo

Special Items - For like a puzzle or secret

Weapons - (If so, make the unit low health and it the same unit in the dropship)

I know this is off topic but xeno...how in the world can you have 2 people working on the same map. Do you do something, e-mail to him and then he does something and e-mails back. Or do you live next to each other and do it at ur house. Or do you do a section and let val load it up. confused.gif

I'm not sure if i have many more screen shots to show you guys (did you see the 5 on the second page?)

I use a private editor that GoldenUrg made shortly before he retired. It is called Star Scape. It isn't for public release sorry i can't give it to you.

Nice one! For a second I thought that italic was part of your sig so I didn't read it carefully and almost bought that. tongue.gif Especially since I actually do use a custom utility program to do certain triggers (mostly still by hand, though).

Anyway, we need more of these kinds of maps! We need to pioneer custom terrain research beyond simply sky scrapers and stuff. I know there is sooo much more potential in tile remixing than just that, impressive as it is so far.

cause i use extra (dont knoe if thats good or not) cause i still dont knoe the txt triggers...they use for starforge n scmdraft..

I use SC Extra 2.5 and i use SCM Draft 2 but bolt head the map looks like and i loved your hoth map.

You might want to get some ideas from my really crappy very old horror maps that I never published.... They have some good ideas like:

Only 1 player gets a flashlight so only he have vision... The rest of the players must stick to him and you can also make it so it can run out of batteries... And make it so you can turn on lights in some buildings to save batteries (Shared vision with some buildings/units).

I have some nice puzzles there you might want to see...

There is a nice HP system I made for silent and his RPG but he never used it.. Its pretty cool and based over an infested terran burrowed under ur unit (It doesnt slow you down). And the enemies attacking this infested terran (They have vision)..
Depends on the enemy's power they kill it in 1-3 hits or something and everytime it dies you lose like 5-15 (Could be random) hit points.. The good thing about this system is you can subtract HP from traps or stuff like poison and bleeding caused by enemies.. This adds another item.. Cure poison and bleeding.

Another nice thing might be like somehing that can make you insane in different ways like unallying the other players or deselecting your unit (Giving it to another player and back..) or make u afraid attacking enemies (Ally them). And ofcourse this adds the option of healing this insanity.

Those are some nice ideas, I want to discourage people from sticking together, the flash light encourages it. In house of the haunted it seems that peoples only life line was the fact they were with there allies. Although I was thinking of doing some sort of flashlight thing.

So how do you get the infested terrain to not slow your unit down? Move it less often or just move it to the space behind your unit, until he has waited in one spot for a while.

Allying the enemies is a good idea possibly. But like the deselecting units it could get to the point where you confuse the player and they sit there thinking (this is dumb)

PS. Welcome to the fourms Evildrone, always nice to have another great mapmaker like yourself.
