I don't know if I agree that people should automatically post suggestions along with ratings. Sometimes people just want a rating to see what people think, sometimes they want suggestions for improvement, it's circumstantial.

Then whaddya say about people asking if they want a rate or not, or else it just have to be showoff and noone will be able to post on it, and those who do will be signed up as VIP to the Nordic Swinger Renunion 2006 because he's a sexy beast and has to get his/her punishment in some way or another!

You just bounce back and forth between what seems the most popular opinion, eh?

Heres my ten cents. I think(since this battle is apparently Wilhelm vs. WoodenFire) that both of you have great points of views, and thats all they are A POINT OF VIEW. Just because someone doesn't agree with what you have to say doesn't mean you have to freak out and flame the other person(this goes to lots of people not just Wilhelm and WoodenFire).

Everyone has their own right to object and exercise their right to rate it a 1/10 and not say why they think so. Everyone has their own right to object and exercise their right to to rate it a 1/10 and say why.
Either way, it's only an opinion. If someone gives you a 1/10, don't freak out... they are only one person. Just like a movie, some people like them, others hate them. It is all preference.

Comparison: Do you remember when you started playing starcraft and every map on battle net was the greatest map ever. Even bunker wars(the game that took 30 seconds to make) made you drop your jaw. Then, as time went by, only quality maps were fun. Heaven bound started to suck, and you only played bounds made by Misteeq.

This totaly is the same way with how professional terrainers rate noob terrain.

When you start doing terrain, anything looks good/cool. Even if it doesn't serve any purpose it is still the greatest thing ever. making high terrain look like low terrain would drop your jaw. Then, as time went by, only quality terrain pieces looked good. A thinned out bridge started to suck, and you only wanted to see custom-hybrid doodads that took no less than 10 hours to make.

Because people like WoodenFire(not to criticize in any way) have seen it all and have experienced beginner, medium, and expert terrain, when beginners come out asking for a rating it doesn't take half a second to determine 1/10(or somewhere near that). I see no problem in this. But, if the beginner says specifically in his topic 'please give me suggestions', now is the time that a rating only is'nt appropriate. Now, -I feel-, that suggestions and feedback should be given(and not just 'its block around the middle', instead, say something useful such as thin it out here and check in the ruins tile section for a matching piece.)

Agreed or disagreed? WHY...

(ps. this post is not to offend anyone. Please tell me if you feel targeted/abused/attacked and i will remove the offending sentence(s))

Thanks... I just think that everyone is fighting over something pretty rediculous. Rate it if it says so. Post suggestions if it says so.
