I used to play with trading cards all the time. I used to sell them and I used to play with them. I think every kid growing up has been introduced to them atleast once.

There cool when you're young, but when you get older you just grow out of that kind of stuff. I used to play with Pokemon and I used to play with yugioh. All used to be fun, but now there just plain stupid smile.gif

Arn't there sites that run these card-games online?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RedNara on 2006-07-05 at 02:02:46
yea, there are sites which make you build some deck, and play people online. But I found them boring, becuase people tend to make some weird deck, and i used to play type 1 only when it was the Odyssey block and yea... Meh after Odyssey everything became real gay... Onslaught block was fine, and Mirrodin was like uh... and now the new blocks are just gay...

I think Odyssey, and Invasion were the best block. And I like the Urza block as well. Didnt play before Urza block so dont know, but dont like type 1... Dont have black lotus lol haha.

Deathawk, so you still play what do you run in your deck? Long time ago i made an all color deck for fun, it runs a few birds and extremly lots of rare card. Meh i also use tinker XD, yay darksteel colossus lol.

But still UB maddness is the best biggrin.gif, i mean its was extremly good when it was type one, 5 turn killer. Not bad at all for a type 1 deck.

I only play with a tooth and nail deck right now, don't really play very often very much. Just darksteel collossus and stuff.

Not sure if they are still in type 2 and stuff, though.

I used to have a really good skullclamp deck, until they were banned for type 2 tournaments.

I also play with a red burn deck :0

DS is broken, its because of darksteel that mtg died.
"Hey guys! lets make things indestructible!"*rocks fly in*
The whole idea behind magic is that there are different elements squaring off against each other. Each has its weekness and its strengths:
Strength | Weakness
Black: discard,summon kill,revive | summon stats, NO atifact/enchant kill
White: could do anything another color couldrevive, summon stats, | cost to do the other color's specialty
Green: summon stats+, pumpUp,life gain,mana | low on abilities/sorcery/enchant
Red: diverse direct damage, speed(not talking about haste nubs), | no enchant kill or life gain, summon stats
Blue: COUNTERS,draw card, weird crap! | summon stats, life gain, damage

It was always great to see how this system was able to balance itslef out, but mirrodin was the begining of the end. The idea of changing the game to that entirely artifact decks could win, was a bad move by wiz. atifacts/colorless was created with the idea that anyone could perform a spell/ability that could emulate another color's at the price of a butt load 'o mana, NOT for creating massive weeny decks that require little to no lands! This force alot of players to go artifact, making wiz LOTS more money than any other release. Why? cuz you couldn't compete without it. It still wasn't totally broken considering you can bust artifacts at a really cheap price. Nevertheless, darksteel smashed anything that could still be considered fair.
And thats kinda why i quit MTG, also I hear wiz has changed its gears and emphasizes on clans/factions/houses now instead of atrifacts.
When I did play I was very found of zombies(every variation you can think of). It actually took a while for the broken crap to kill its effectiveness. My best deck was probably my simple white weeny soldier deck:(from what I remember)
guided strikes
unquestioned authorities
lots of 1-2 cost soldiers
reprisals
lots of cycle stuff
glorius anthems
1 molbilization
1 arrest
(side deck disenchants, take out stuf i dont use 4 of)
15-20 lands
All about drawing, suprise first strike, and 4+kill
I just gave it to a friend who wants to beat some kids who think more is more.
has anyone ever made a good deck around storm? I just can't see it working

I played all those TCGs, save dbz, and mtg was the best. Best part is I've only spent like $20 over my life time on it.

Damn.. 20 dollars only

I remember my Akroma card cost me like 20 dollars.

And it came useful when I versed Red/White combo decks tongue.gif

Yeah, that's sort of why I used Darksteel Collossus with Tooth and Nail... it was so good smile.gif

Dude you kidding, darksteel isnt that borken, there is plenty of other decks that can counter it... Darksteel is isnt that rigged, its heavey as hell, there is bunch of other cards thats 100 times better than that card. The only time it will ever be played is in a Type 1 decks, in type 2 decks it was pointless and if you ran darksteel in your deck it was a waste of space.

I didn't mind darksteel collossus decks as much as blue counter decks. They pissed me off so much.

Same with the decks that used skullclamp tongue.gif

Yeh I had this system set up where my lil brother bought all the cards, and I got all my friends to give their cards to him. Each person was alowed to create one deck using practically w/e card they wanted, leaving me with the scraps. Ofcourse they just picked legends/rares/really-expensive-strong-crap while I had a structure.

When mirrodin and DS came it just seemed like everything you could ever want for your color came true. I really didn't like that. I mean, counter spell + that one scepter = gg. Even though it never happened to me, the thought that it would got me pissed. I just like having each color having its strengths and weaknesses. It just seems like they bumped it up to where it didnt come down to explioting a color's flaw, just a display of who has the most power. You have to agree that Indestructible is the stupidest ability of them all, I guess if it wasnt for that, then I would female dog as much about it.
someone else post thur stuff.
