Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> Terrain -> City Terrain I'm working on

Not useless if it's pleasing to the eyes. I walked around the city ingame with and SCV, and really, you can't even see down the alleyways that much either way, so it doesn't matter ingame.

I've done the technique I'd plan on using(If I wanted to make the alleyways walkable) in all of my crappy city maps... it's alot easier and takes up less terrain in the actual playing area.

Just map out say an interior of a building(Make it all pretty, take up more room, ect) outside the actual playing area and just use teleporting triggers. It's actually pretty useful at times, I could just do the same to fill up more unused terrain if I was to make the map 192x192.

Edit: Example, I just whipped this up in like 2 minutes, it looks like doody in the editor, but in a unit's perspective, it'd look fine.

Right inbetween a building or something.

No no no, don't use pure 3-tile stack with walls like that. Walls need something more. For example this.

You also need to remove the terrifying blockiness that both of them have. tongue.gif

I've never thought about putting the window tiles there... *shrug*

Syphon, what were you refering to, exactly?

Badlands can't blend very well without blurring your vision so you can see it all come together.

Edit: I like putting the windows how they are in this pic, as IMO, it looks pretty good like that in terms of realism(For rooms in the building that have windows), or you could space 'em out more.

And now I'm really interested too, as yesterday when I was bored, I went through the entire badlands set trying to find something else to blend the walls together.

I found nothing, either I wasn't looking hard enough, or I was doing it wrong.

Can we see?
