There is a little bit of crap behind anything, but I can sure say that there is a truck load of hot crap behind this thing.

Wat did he say? we are... freaktards? I am going to ask my dad to hack this damn messed up kid, or adult, or anything he is, i wont let a dumb like him say bad things to my... uhh... well not freinds but fellow mappers!
Well, i think that starcraft will die, no, i am sure it will, and starcraft's server too, unless ppl buy SC2 like freaks... we just have to wait for servers to close and then SC2 to come, hope blizz will make a pwning comercial for it, and wait for ppl to buy enough of it for blizz to restore bnet...
So, the only thing we can do is wait, and hope SC:BW maps are comptible with SC2 maps... for our work in years is not wasted

WeTzEr or WeTzOr, both of his accounts, is probably the person who "hacked" the site. To my understanding, he has done it before, and I know for a fact that he's the one that "hacked" Shocko[xM] and Mr.Chicken (at least his starcraft account). Of course, nothing is for sure.

I wouldn't count on it. Devilesk was a clan member of mine, GgG-LesK, and the relationship between us was somewhat mutual.
Yes, now it sounds like Devilesk wasn't connected to the hacking.

No, it doesn't. It sounds like DH is just trying to protect his friend. Maybe it wasn't devilesk after all, maybe it was LW? lol
Well, map makers should really get to Europe to spread their maps, the maps there, it's still Golem Revelation, Penguin Wars and Marine Special Forces going on there.
I don't even know if Resident Evil by Panzer_Kavalier has ever been played by those!
Mobilize, troops! Lets convert some ignorant Frenchmen, Italians, Germans and Swedes to aid us in our holy crusade to gain strength to achieve the victory we've all dreamt of having!
Chrono has a point. Battle.net as i recall, moves in sub-phases over specific maps.
Example: Before my last break of SC id play only advanced pro maps. Now im back to simple aren clicks and defenses, mindless as they are.
If europe its truely behind where east is we could host the maps coming after what theyre on and do some good. Thoughts?

We can bring the maps to Europe and start a Revolution there, but latency would kill some of us SENers if we wanted to paly over there.
The problem with Europe is that the majority of players there are Korean. I play all servers, but most of the time I'm found on East since it has peoplethat speak English (I only know so much Korean). Also I find that a lot of the Europe players, if they have any map making experience, just go to East anyways. The last problem with Europe is that I find a lot of people there are impatient and don't want to wait to download a map, especially if the host is from the U.S. or Canada (slower download rate). Those are just my observations, not saying every single person from Europe is like that.

You can think what you want, I am not entirely sure he was or was not, but just from what I've heard from him, and concluded myself, I don't really think he was connected to the hacking.
Regardless, he's banned, and SEN isn't hacked anymore.. :\

Are you sure? Or should I better ask, are you blind?
Besides he was banned before the hacks, banned because of OSMAP.

What do you mean "Am I blind" SEN isn't hacked... even if there are attempts, nothing like what happened before has happened now.
And I think he was banned because he was asked NOT to post OSMAP links on SEN, yet he continued to do it, thus not listening to moderation and staff. You might consider that OSMAP though, but I thought of him being banned more of being disobedient.
He was banned for being openly stupid.
OSMAP itself is not bad, it's the choices of what to do with it that are. Most OSMAP supporters don't have the intention of "stealing" a map, but rather, just open and look at triggers to see how they did something.

Take me for example, I am Swedish and I was pretty much brought to the US servers because I didn't want to play those stupid golem and other useless madness maps.
I used to play Europe (because that's where I "belong"), and what I drew as a conclusion of the whole thing is that people might get impatient about big sized maps is that they are so used to fast downloadable maps, bounds, madness maps etc. so they do not want to take the time to download a much bigger map because they think that this map is just like every other map is, and it's "better" to download fast and play rather than downloading slow and play.
But the thing is that Europe has alot for the world to give, I'd say that if we did bring "our" map making skills onto Europe, many others will get interested (since the major part of all map makers is American) and our activity will increase pretty much.

That would be neat if Europe became active, but I still believe it will remain dormant.

Does it mean that they don't like to learn about newer maps and their triggers?
We have an entire Arsenal of great maps we could unleash on Europe. But it'd be hard to turn all those golem and defense people over.
I still think we need to give a shot at europe. Alot of european players, even a friend of mine from germany, all play USEast. I say with some help we could do it. The only problem id say we have is routers.
This is not an OSMAP debate, nor a debate on the morals of the users of OSMAP. Id love to sit here and argue why i hate it, i really would, but this is not the topic for it. Take it somewhere else please gents.

I say to try on europe, starcraft is in the terminal phase on Weast and East...
For exemple, i joined 3 games and got banned 3 times... its 100% man...
Another exemple, i leaved a game and the host mass insulted me with whispers and put on the Do Not Disturb message with this: (.i.`-`)...
ppl dont deserve our maps... they just becoome more newbs, more lame, more pissing off, more newb map makers that dont take comentaries, and more a** holes... so, i say, that starcraft is corrupted, i never being on europe so i hope its alright on this side...
wat i wanted to say is that impatient ppl is better then stupid idiots...
So, no, starcraft dont have any golden age, but we can make one if we try on Europe

Yes it does. Inactivity in map making includes lack of need to "learn" with OSMAP.
QUOTE(S.T.A.R.S-Le0n @ Sep 25 2006, 02:32 PM)
Ill put it like this. A revolution is going on in SEN. SEN is currently the heart of UMS mapping. OSMAP as much as i despise it, is letting n00bs learn, and steal again. Clans are getting back into their heads from the whole Mp buissness. Mp has fallen, true, a hard blow for the map making community. But NGM, the star of hope as i see it, has just produced some 5 maps in a matter of days. What im saying is if more MM Clans, map or mod by the way, get into their rythm and start doing what they do, we might, just ,ight have a second SC golden age. SEN is going to, so why shouldnt bnet?
Thoughts? Discussion?

agreed. I feel Sc has declined over the 10 years, but sen really keeps it together. Thought i'm saying this from the prospective of clan oo. I'm not considering the other realms on sc. I have got some awsome map makers in clan oo now, so it feels like a second golden age. I miss the first one.. but this will do. I think sen really keeps map making fun, and unites the east map makers.

Thanks Snipe, we really needed some optimistic insight on it, alot of people done have high hopes. Im doing my part by making some new maps that i actually plan to finish provided i get some help.
