Lithium, 99% average? That's one easy school, no offense you your intelligence
. But In my school, it would be impossible to get a 99% average unless you got
really lucky with all your teachers, and it's impossible to get lucky with ~21 teachers (over 3 years).
Sometimes I get no homework, sometimes I get a few hours of homework. Tonight, I've got about 35 minutes of homework. I'll probably finish it in an hour and a half because I get so bored and distracted.
It's not that easy managing time.

Just do your homework half ass like me. I get like 65s in homeworks but its still passing. Though I have to work on my fullest if I want to go to college.

The problem with that is that if you get one even worse grade on a fairly big assignment, then you're failing and it'll be very difficult, if not impossible, to recover.

70 in my school is passing. Our A is 93 and above, We dont get high honors unless you have 95 or above because below 95 is A- which is not good enough. Its crap!

You actually might have to try to get an 'A'. The horror!I am trying to figure out the differences between Canadian and American schools. Who wants to help me? Anyway.. this is how my province's school system works.
A fail grade in my school is 50%. Honours is considered >79%. The class average is generally around or less then 65-67%. As you can see, not many people make honours. Last year, I only think there were around 15-20 people that got >89% in my grade.
To get into a good university, you need a certain mark depending on what faculty you are trying to get into. Last year, at the
University of Alberta, the required mark for Sciences (which branches off into many other things) was 83% if I can recall correctly.
As for homework, I haven't done any of it in years. I have long stood by the opinion that homework should only be done if you need practise at that subject. Even if the homework is for marks, I refuse to do it.
My mark? I'm somewhere in the honours range. There is no way I would output the effort to get up into the 90's. The reward is not worth it.
Don't meet your school standards to life standards. If you want a better job, they are gonna compare your grades.

Boo Cal I think it is funny that in my Algebra 2 class, everyone is like wow its so hard, and they try so hard and work hard, they get like around a 90 in the class. Lazy me gets the homework done during class and gets tests done fast and has a 94 for the quarter right now and think the class is so easy, I am not that smart, its just that everyone else has no commen-sence, thats all math is. All you need to know is the basics and some formulas and your all set to go!
Algebra is common sense, things like trig and calc you actually have to learn.

That'll change for biological and physical studies.
That will also change when your going for Advanced Placements.
I have Advanced Placements, but it is for Computer Science, we are making programs with Java, its hard, but only because it takes three hours even if you know it, because it is the figuring out of how to do it, Java has so much different code.
I find math to be easy, the annoying part is proving geometric things. Hate that. It takes so long, and if I didn't have to write down the ridiculously long reasons for each of the steps it would take <1 minute to figure it out.
I abbreviate a lot when I do proofs, makes it a bunch easier.
what do you mean abbreviate, how can you abbreviate on something that is supposed to be written out? You must not abbreviate too much. I also find math to be my easiest subject!
... they take 30 seconds. math has always been abbreviated.
what do you mean 30 seconds, it takes less than that, your talking about converse, biconditional, conditional, and other types of if, then statements right? if not explain.
MindArchon,
Failing grades are <59 in the US
I go to a private school so other things are a bit different... Honors is 83-89 and high honors is 90 and above average.
Most of the people in my school get 80 averages. I need to do homework to get any decent grades. I recently have been adapting to my schedule and everything is getting easier.
Colleges in the US take much more than grades into consideration.
59 is way too low, I think they should be the same everywhere! Mine is 70, you get a 69 you fail. However a 69.5 is rounded to a 70. Its not fair!!!
Most people consider D's a failpass. You won't proceed, but you don't fail, per se.
Ya, i know what you mean. I was kind of upset when I looked at my last two years of highschool, my GPA is only 84.3 which means that its a C+, its .2 off from a B, cause those years I slacked a lot.
I would abbreviate, but my teacher doesn't allow it
. He takes points off abbreviated things. Like theorums.
If a line intersects x lines at x distinct places, then the line is ...blah blah blah.
Or my favorite one: Instead of CPCTC, as I was taught, everyone has to write out 'Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent'... so annoying.
omg, I remeber that, we didnt have to write Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent, we just had to write CPCTC I think your right it is annoying!
My teacher doesn't care, as long as she knows what you mean by it. Like, I can write / for angles or, but I'm not sure about this: I2||LACBAT, for if 2 parallel lines are cut by a transversal.
