Makes sence because the brain works and has a very good memory although you cant always remember things exactly. Far back where you dont think of it things that are very simple can trigger this.

Just like when my sister asked me a question long ago: when I was like 8 she asked me what 99x99 was. Of coarse I didnt know. Since then that I have never forgotten this. Anyone could come up to me anytime of the day whenever and I remember that it is 9801. Not that you wouldnt know but I didnt use a calculator for that.

Well its not like that. It would only be like that if it was a dream and something that occured to you harshly

It doesn't necessarily have to be a harsh experience, it's just that bad experiences usually affect you more than good experiences. Part of our taking things for granted I imagine. I think part of the reason I couldn't get off was perhaps because I have never had sex before so my mind didn't really know what it was like so instead it invented an excuse for why I couldn't have sex. Does that sound feasible?

that is my most likely guess for why you "could get off", and can you stop talking about that stuff now, talking about it is a little weird tongue.gif

Ya youre brain seems to find it a lot easier to remember bad dreams or bad experiences than good ones. Whenever I have a bad dream I remember it for a couple days, maybe a week even. A good one you forget unless it hit somewhere close to you. Like seeing someone that you miss a lot, you remember those ones.

Not really. Dreams come from experiances that had a great impact to your life. Good or Bad, which ever made you think about that time the most.

But this could also occur from a dream. Your brain reacts the same to a dream by remembering it just the same it does by what occurs during your life.

What could occur from a dream? And you just restated what I typed.

I'm pretty sure when you can remember it in as much detail as i can then you'd know you've been there before.

Addition:
Just for you, i went to wikipedia to back my statement up.
QUOTE
The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past.

Yes, that's what I was saying. Deja vu is when you think you remember having done the same thing you're doing now sometime in the past, it has nothing to do with precognition of future events.
QUOTE
Well lets put it this way. The person had a bad experiance and it was shifted into another concept but different scene

Personally, I prefer to avoid getting too freudian about these kinds of things. You have to be careful not to attach too much meaning to a dream, because it be just...not actually there.

When did you ever state that. You said that it was what happened in your life. I was agreeing and adding that your brain remembers your dreams the same way.

Ima try that making lucid dream thing. Every day ima turn on my fan several times when I am thinking about a certain thing, and then since I sleep with a fan on I am going to see if I can get my dreams to what I want them to be. smile.gif

I wish I could make dreams to what I wanted. If people figured this out, internet surfing would plummit a good 10%. haha. I wonder if that is actually possible!?

Its possibly if you've been thinking about it for a long time and everyday at every second. Like I stated before, something that has affected you greatly.

well i guess if you do something so many times such as the thinking about something and putting a fan on, when ever you put the fan on your brain will automatically pick up on what you was thinking because it associates that thought as being symbolized by the fan -- if you understand that and when you sleep if you have the fan on your brain will pick up on this thought and it would be reflected in your dream in theory. Few flaws, you would have to do something quite a lot of times before your brain picks up on it everytime that event happens, and if your brain or body is working such as thinking about things whilst resting or digesting whilst resting then in the end you end up with a less productive sleep so expect to feel slightly tired when you wake up if you succed in 'customizing' your dream.

If you want to try to get a lucid dream, get a notebook and write down every dream you have, as soon as you wake up. You have at least 3-4 different dream segments per night, sometimes they seem to blend together.

Eventually, you'll start being able to remember more and more of your dreams, and realize lucidity and whatnot.

They say that you have to go over things three times to remember it. But then again, I dont feel the need to remember my dreams. Nor do I want to write on paper what they are, if I could even remember them that well.

It might be a good laugh when you're 50. lol. laughing at yourself that is.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)7-7 on 2006-11-29 at 12:59:46
Yes, that would be quite the laugh. Or if someone else got their hands on them, that would be more of a laugh for them and a lot of embarrasment for you. Well of coarse it is depending on what you wrote down on the paper. crazy.gif

So I'm not the only who sleeps with the fan on. smile.gif Funny how that in south and north korea that when you buy a fan it has a timer on it so when you sleep they believe the fan sucks in all the oxygen.

I live in Maine so it is cold now-a-days. I dont have a fan on me during the winter because it gets below freezing during the day and around zero every night. Only during the summer.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by NerdyTerdy on 2006-11-29 at 20:49:43
I sleep with the fan on sometimes, I'm not sure if it makes me have lucid dreams more often or less often. I believe I've had a lucid dream once when I put the fan on and twice without the fan on, but that's not really an accurate test, because I sleep with the fan off more often than on.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)7-7 on 2006-11-29 at 21:27:56
I bet having a fan on doesnt decide whether you have a dream or not, unless you had a dream about a fan or if your fan had a dream in it then your mind would connect the two and you would have that dream.
