Actually i can never keep my big mouth shut and i have problems with my ideas leaking out and people finishing maps with them before i ever finish my own (if i ever do). Tux is alot more secretive of his stuff than I am. I never see his incompleat maps but I yap about mine all the time and show mostly anyone.

I'm like "LOOK AT THE COOL THING I DID" and i show someone 3 seconds of a incompleat intro, but tux does the whole big release thing and says "Im working on this, it will be cool" but you will just have to wait.

But Tux cannot release A&O for this, so therefore he is stuck till he releases this and starts work on a new map isn't he!

No I can't. If I did this would be a very one sided contest.

It so happens though that I'm planning a map to do in the intermission between the functionality demo and meat and bones portion of A&O, which I'll keep secret for now, but I might enter it into the contest.

You all might not know me or seen my stuff but I must say I think Id give Tux a run for his money especially with what I've got planned. But I wish everyone good mapmaking luck and may the best mapper win!

I don't currently have a "best", but my 3 most popular are Kill Me!, A&O Trailer, and Trigger Happy Defense. My "best" is yet to come, though.

anyway.. my new map will have roughly about 3500 triggers with a total of about 150000 actions, definitely not a good ting in itself, but they are not automated values like for killcount

Nope. You can have a lot more than that, normally the string count is the issue, but in my view, why have 1000 triggers where 500 will do?

Yes. We will not publicily give out your map or whatever though. You can submit protected versions to our downloads DB.

Can the map be unprotected if my comp is screwy and won't let me run proedit even with the required programs?

Can the map be a 1 player map...I'm guessing it can be, but I didn't know if the judges tested it at once or not. I not 1 player maps aren't too popular because it only 1 person who can play it (duh), but I may end up adding more players when the 1 player version is done.

If it is a map that goes to other scenerios (I don't think iw ill, but someone else may), does that count as one map, or can the literally have only 1 map.

Greek letters ka. alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, eta, theta, iota, kappa, lambda, mu, nu, xi, omicron, pi, rho, sigma, tau, upsilon, phi, chi, psi, omega. I know, I'm a nerd.

Also a question some people mahy forget to ask but will not be relevant to me. Can the map require a mod?
Can the map have the SEN theme song in it?
Can the map be a v2 of something and be reasonably similar (not same map, but same kinds of trigs and unit settings and story and stuff)?
Is the map score lowered if it is filled with newbie doodads and sprites for no reason?

Yoshi, please stop making up rules like the map can be protected. Because I might have wanted it to be unprotected to look at the triggers, we all will know who made the map anyway.
Clarifaction on that: Submit to us a unprotected ver, but protect your public one.

So guys: If you leave your map unprotected for me to look at the triggers, I'll probly give you bonus points.

Yes it can be 1 player, in this case we will indvidually test it.

Again, if the map is all your triggers and terrain, we accept it, but originality is a judging factor.

You can make campaigns.

No mods.

You can use anyone theme song you want, I don't care, Yoshi might.

Yes if the doodads have no relivance, there will be points deducted.

A couple of questions....

1.Are Movie Maps allowed?
2.How big can the map be?(size in kb,mb,etc)
3.Are large sized sounds allowed?
4.Can we use any of the editors?
5.Are the maps going to be judged in different categories?(i.e. Melee,Bound,Arena etc.) or are they going to be judged all in the same category?

Judging is based on 3 things, trigger complexity and smoothness, style of map/originaility, fun factor. (is it fun?)

Yoshi, don't change the rules, I thought I said campaigns / multi maps are allowed, If I didin't then change it please.
By more then 1 map I meant you cannot submit different maps, if you made 2 or more maps in a "series" or "campaign" then it's alright.

We have about 70 sign-ups, I gotta update the list.

I think anyone who has a basic grasp of the editor shoudl atleast try, for fun. Its motivating me to make my maps and finish them, which i haven't done for over a year
