I haven't seen any posts that led to Idol's outburst, but I doubt it was nothing. SOmething must have really pissed him off wether it be a bad post or family problems or something. Anyways,

even though there aren't much in the way of prizes right now, I would like to state I will still try to enter in the contest. I signed up because I thought it would be really neat to be part of it. While i guess people like Tux wouldn't get too much extra for winning because some of those people are practicaly legends, it is still fun to enter for the hell of it, and to see who had a great SC map. I bet this contest could have some really great maps and creative ideas. Anyways, I hope the contest continues even if the only prizes are an e-mail address and recognition.

I don't know what anyone else thinks but I will defend that position to the extent of my capabilities.

Well he's back, he posted in the election thread yesterday. I bet you he tries to work his way into our good graces sometime soon.

I wouldnt be pissed if someone made a sequel to my maps. Infact, Mathrix(U) made a sequel to my Coin Arena Game and i didnt get pissed; it sort of delighted me because it told me that people like my games so much that sometimes they want to make their own version of it.

But what if *I* wanted to make a sequel my own map. Regardless of the fact bolt may or may not have said he wasn't going to make one himself, it would have still been nice to simply ask to make sure. Even though I don't see anything really wrong with idol's inital statement about making the map, he could have asked bolt just to get sala to shut up, if sala's post really bothered him that much. Sequels do get pretty close to map stealing in regards of concepts, story line, etc.
Aside from my own "biasness" and opinions in my post, regardless, idol was/is being rather immature. Just because sala has a problem with idol, he quits his commitment to the contest he started and got people hyped up about?

I was rather more annoyed that he got into a mood saying that no one ever gets annoyed at Sala when he makes his comments, in fact i told them both to stop creating flames, its just the Sala is better at arguing than Idol, although Sala really was just an opinion, while Idol looked to cause a fight.

Whoever pissed him off deserves a hand...

By the way, I'd be willing to devote keys and such to the contests prizes... I've got a lot of them on my hands and since I don't really play anymore I have no use for them... So whoever is running the contest if you need a hand with prizes I can help.

You know, for the prizes, i was thinking that me (or someone) should make StarEdit Network shirts for the top 5 winners. And on each shirt will say which place you got and the actual URL to SEN and some fancy cool decorations and . And possibly, the map which got you in your place!

I think people should have treated him better, he did pay $500 thats more than i can afford!

He didn't pay anything, he just "said" he would.

I proved to Yoshi I could pay out by making a video of all the said prizes I was to provide, I discussed it deeply and over a months time with Yoshi before we even announced it, I was 100% behind doing it. I was disucssing some things with purity that needed to be fixed, namely all the hate I was getting and some misc stuff I wont get into, I just asked him to help a little but he just blew it off. I got mad, yes, I am sorry for that. I wasnt trying to buy your kindness like he tried to say, I was only asking what every other user gets and that's fairness, like Salacious delibritly flamed my idea for HOTH2 and nothing happend about it, it really seems some people get away with anything [just a small example].
Anyway, I would have gone thru with it, I worked my ass off to set it up it was no joke. Now I guess everyone shows thier true color.. I'll grow up and say it: if you guys can fix these problems and actually co-operate with me [as Yoshi did], I still have all the prizes and money and names written down.. set aside for.. somthing..
If you decline then I dont care it's off my shoulders.

Well that sucks. I started working on my map beginning of October when contest was announced (last map i made was supposed to be my last ) anywho, guess I'll still post it when I'm finished. Hope it's liked cuz I put like 3 hours a day into it for like the last 5 weeks!

We are quite close to get everything in order and agrre. I just need Devlin to confirm and then we start talking about guidelines and stuff.

i mainly want the trophy and minerals but im not good enough to win but ill try when i have the attention span to finish maps as good as tuxedo, you guys have to have a handicap, like dont let tuxedo templar go into the contest, he in my opinion is the best map maker, and tux thats a compliment, you are soo good, u can't try, lol or at least if its on a rating system, make it harder for him

Yoshi didn't really believe that idoL was going to go through with the contest at all, that's why the Staredit.net email address were on there, because he knew idoL would probably pull out. Idol is a stupid little who says a lot of stuff he doesn't mean, and he backs out of everything. He has officially quit SC dozen of times, now he's back again. I had some constructive criticism for the dip s map and he used that as an excuse to get out of having to pay anything. He never really was going to do anything, and he probably would have stolen the maps anyway, since he wanted them unprotected even though they didn't need to be. I'd like to see another contest, but recently I have realized that no one here really makes maps at all, they just say they will. So even if there is a contest, there will only be a few entries.

Yea, maybe he had to be treated like a god.. sure but what if he wants you to think like that? He could just be a greedy rotten down under. He obviously has found something he wants, which then he would set himself up here to make an ending. So then he can go ahead and use his 500 dollars

Only the honest and trusted can actually handle things that this guy couldnt so dont expect that 500 to come from ppl like him
