Did anybody ever think about opening the map in SCXE, letting the unit get removed because it isn't valid and then opening it however you want?

I'm not sure but I think it will crash... Or at least that's what Robi said.

Unless the limit is changed, and more entries are added to units.dat, then it just gets removed.

Actually ProEdit is easier to unprotect than any other program ever created...
That is why I am making a patching program that prevents this from being done.

InSaNe, try to unprotect this ProEdit protected map that works on Starcraft tongue.gif

and try ever other method too if you don't believe that this is protected by ProEdit happy.gif

Err... Are you saying that PROEdit 1.4.1 is easier to unprotect than any other program ever created?

If you're saying that, why are you doubting InSaNe to unprotect a PROEdit 1.4.1-protected map if you yourself believe that it could be done in one step?

You MIGHT be thinking about versions of PROEdit 1.3 and under (The SCU/SCMDraft way).

...and if PROEdit 1.4/1.4.1 maps could easily be unprotected in one step, PM me please tongue.gif .

Yes v1.4.1, 1 easy step.
I patched that map myself with uBeR@Te v1.0 Alpha.
I have yet to make the program that does this tongue.gif

No the easy step way actually gives you the terrain instead in SCMDraft Alpha.

It's not that great... I got that map to work in SCMDraft 2 in almost no time (1 minute or so) without using one of the guides as a reference. I could make it work in SCXE if I tried, it's not that hard (in fact, I know what the problem is, but fixing it will take a fairly long time compared to the 1-2 minutes I wanted to spend on it).

So... the "1 easy step" way is actually the "open the map with editor X then editor Y, etc.... until it's fully unprotected" way? tongue.gif

There may be an unprotection method but it's nothing to worry about if everyone would keep quiet.

In this one, Coko is tired of his utterless spamming, reported to moose and moose came and locked the thread. Either moose or him deleted the post. His post occurred between Coko and mine.
- Phlem asked for corrupted map reason. (attatched map)
- Tuxedo answers about no start locations and neutral players.
- I answer on inactive players caused by starforge, also fixed and reattached map for phlem.
----> Insanemapper's deleted post: He said "I did not repeat what anyone else (Tuxedo and I) said, place some start locations (which is what tuxedo said) and your units are inactive (which I said the PLAYERS are inactive, not the units). So he is repeating help and also giving wrong information at the same time.

Good lord.. I could go on forever... I think I should give him some mercy .. for now biggrin.gif

Edit Reason: Typo (obviously for typing a long post)

He's working on a program that will combine with PROEdit protection to censored.gif the map up even more, so that no map program ever made can read it.

So your not making a program yourself? What you looking for, something to automatically implement your technique into maps?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by LegacyWeapon on 2004-11-21 at 11:28:35
Just a program that implements it into the map. It shouldn't be as hard as ProEdit. It only needs to protect, nothing fancy.

I can't program, so I would
A) Find someone to do it for me.
- or -
B) Take a year to learn some programming langauge then do it myself.

I can probably find someone to do it for me, but I've actually been thinking of making it in Javascript then encrypting the code and see if it works. Then everyone can just paste the Hex code and voila, protected. The only problem with that is everyone can look at the code, unencrypt it, and figure out what uBeR@Te does.

This is getting off topic.
