Seriously, I am saying this helpfully and not as taken to be an insult, but if you want to be a judge or want respect, you REALLY need to stop this "guyz" and putting "lol" after every line (you didn't do it in above post though). You need to have good grammar and sentence structure. Try it.

ok fine...ill try but i've always had bad grammer online like i said in some post yesterday.

i know its no third-party programs, but wat about triggers duplicator for say point scores for each player, or must they be done all individually...

hopefully trigger duplicator is allowed or i may just make deadline

Trigger Duplicator might be able to be used in this tournament, because you can do the triggers in staredit. But otherwise no..

You think they could have come up with set rules at the start... Tournaments are supposed to be organized events.

What I should have done is wrote *these rules subject to change.

lol, that could work, that or list the rules on 1st post and keep editing, but i guess that would be a waste of time, ppl could just read all of the posts and pick out the changes in rules, less work on your part Syphon and they hav to work, yes sorting through spam posts is work, some ppl get payed to do it, but most dont...

I just want to make a comment for all those who want to use third-party programs of any sort:
If you do use any third party program to do anything that could normally be done in StarEdit (eg use SCMDraft2 or StarForge to write triggers in text), I very highly doubt that the judges could detect it (assuming that it actually can be done in StarEdit). If you load allowable triggers from another map, or use a program like trigger duplicator, it will be very hard for the judges to prove that you did it.

However, keep in mind that the spirit of the competition is to have to work around the limitations of StarEdit in the way that mapmakers learnt to before other programs such as SCMDraft and trigger duplicator came out. Some people bit the bullet and made all their repetitive triggers one by one. Others avoided the most complex/repetitive trigger systems and made maps around other ideas. Others still designed simpler trigger systems to achieve the same effects. The idea behind this competition is to give you that same challenge - to make a map on StarEdit, as it was supposed to be released (i.e. without exploiting bugs), to have to think of ways of saving your own effort if you couldn't be bothered to do something or other.

If you're really annoyed about not being able to do something relatively minor - such as preplacing units of different races for the same player, or placing map revealers over the map for different players - you have a few things to think about. Will you do it 'by hand'? Will you have to do it the long way? Can you discover a better, more efficient way to do what you want to do? Finally, if you think that you really, really need some other editor to make your dream map - maybe your idea doesn't quite fit this competition. That doesn't mean that it's a bad idea - it just means that there are other ideas which are probably better suited to this competition. Before you even start making your map, you should think about whether it fits this competition or not - if its not for this competition, but you still want to enter, you should think of another idea.

Just so another spam wave won't happen, in case of loads of copy like triggers we won't prove anything, you will to justify yourself. Don't take kenoli's case as an example how it will be.
