Rigged maps are definitely annoying.

I am guilty of tweaking a few maps myself however only because they were intended for more people than we could find to play. I personally enjoy getting the crap beat out of me by computer opponents or an "almost" impossible game. Rigging a map just so you can beat it is very weak indeed.

I miss the old days of Starcraft.. cry.gif When BW was out, I still only had normal SC for the longest time. Life was good. It was fun to rig maps. Now when I say "rig" maps, it is MUCH different than the stupid newbs who rig maps today. They rig the maps with 9999 units (taking out all value), not changing the map name, and then spreading it to everyone else. My example of my "rigging" was where I had a router (then it was taken offline YAY.. then I got another one- BOO) which made it that I couldn't host games with my friends.

Well I wanted to play this cool missile turret-like game where you could buy heros. You controlled a dropship and wraiths shot out of ion cannons to you. You move your dropship such that the wraiths plow into the units on the path, destroying them. Now since I can't play with anyone, I just make it that I owned all the ion cannons (I changed map name). In the end, I still lost even with that sad.gif (stupid scourges) I never did spread that map, and its lost on my other computer (which has no internet connection anymore) That was good, honest, clean editing, changing it for experimenting instead of making it and spreading it cuz you're a stupid newb.

I never do stuff like that anymore, but oh well happy.gif

To those newb riggers:
OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!

A key element to a game is that it has to be somewhat challenging. The people that rig make the game no point to play if the outcome is already decided that you win.

i guess it keeps continueing because 1 person starts out losing and he gets pissed off. he goes and riggs a map that he can win at. when the players that play the map that the guy has rigged, they also get pissed off and either play the rigged map again(being the rigged player.) or goes off and riggs another map.

Well the reason people rig maps is so they can win. It become so pathetic that winning is the prime reason people do anything! Whatever happened to having fun? I remember when Family Guy Madness or SSBM was unrigged, now thems were good times. But now these little censored.gifs decide "Man... This is so effin hard... I'm just gonna tweak the map a little bit..." Except they dont tweak it. They ruin the map altogether. PROTECT YOUR MAPS PEOPLE! Its not like it cost money or anything. Download StarForge or somethin, and just save it as the Final Version! And you know what they say "Practice makes perfect". And in my opinion, it feel much much better to conquer a map playing fair than using cheats, hack, or otherwise. Am I right or am I right?

And if you don't know how to protect your map just don't spread it!!! mad.gif

You're wrong warlord.. jk smile.gif
It feels much better to beat the game the old-fashioned way than to cheat, because you feel like a real newb when you lose when you're rigged, and it is very rewarding to finally finish a game. The main point of the game is well, the GAME, not the ending.
