I didn't read all 3 pages, in case it's still testing:

Browser: Internet Explorer 6

Reason: I can sometimes find some bugs on SEN, and I'm usually the type to search up everyone on the forums and see their profiles shifty.gif

Um, it was generally my idea to limit what characters you could use because of problems with inserting certain types into a database.
Periods (.'s) were supposed to be okay, I'll have to change that.

And... who exactly is releasing the link to senv5 anyways?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by FrAZ428 on 2005-06-22 at 00:17:31
Certainly not I : I don't know it. Do you really think whoever does would tell you? I mean, considering all possible consequences...

I'd be best to keep it that way and that you don't go around in SENv5 clicking everything. There are some things which IP doesn't want to be tested and/or messed around with until he finishes them. Since you can't see the SENv5 Forum, there is no way for you to know what these things are.

You can watch if you want, but don't touch anything or tell anyone.

User Agents: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1)
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4

I only have IE6 and Firefox 1.0.4, but I mostly use firefox. If this is a problem, I can always download / switch browsers.

Reasons:
Fluent in ASP and databases - therefore know how to use SQL injections
Know some PHP
Fluent in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and general web design
Able to create custom browsers in Visual Basic for testing web security by sending modified packets and other custom information
Know XHTML 1.0 standards for Strict and Transitional

Edit: Added more information

Sorry guys, I haven't coded anything in a week+... mostly due to sheer tiredness of having off for two weeks from work and then trying to get used to having to go to work again. I'll attempt to do some more code later tonight and possibly (no promises) get the 2nd group in today or tomorrow or the next day even.

Tarh, you can be in the 2nd group (next) due to your knowledge smile.gif.
I think I killed all possibilities of a sql injection attack, but I'm not sure.

Can you make a calender when SENv5 has a update? Because it gets really annoying for a long time without test from my group.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Jordan on 2005-06-29 at 16:14:11
I dont think ip would want that because than people would know whats going on that they shouldnt no.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2005-07-01 at 00:03:09
In programming, you don't really know when there's an update. Those of us who are testing it don't know when there's an update. He has a pinned thread that tells us what to do.

I changed my priorties. It used to be "once I get the message center and profile center 100% done, I'll let the 2nd group in". Right now, I'm thinking "once I get the forums set up, I'll let everyone in".

I'm also thinking we may launch senv5 befoer 100% completion... run on both versions. Etc: Forums in senv4 will shutdown and forums on senv5 will be used... and until the dldb gets up, senv4 dldb will be used... perhaps.

I dunno though.

This is taking forever, forum websites doesn't take that long whenever my friends or I make it. My groupt never had tested, some members who didn't 'test' yet knows the link already. But when are we going to test? bored.gif

If that was to happen, the only bug testers for the newest features would be the first group, correct? Allowing the second group to test would bring in "a fresh pair of eyes" to investigate and test the final features before release. I believe that this new forum should be tested as much as possible, to make sure that we don't have as many bugs as v4.1, and are therefore required to make v6. I still think that as much testing needs to be done as possible.

That would mean that you would be releasing new features untested to the general public? One problem with this is that the new features may contain serious bugs that damage some form of data storage (databases). A recently backed-up database being corrupted by about 25 people is one thing, but a database corruption that damages the profiles of thousands of people is quite another. I'm not saying that something like this will happen, but there is always a chance that somebody might TRY to make it happen. To be honest, there are most likely some members of SEN that would enjoy to see a major bug be exploited (remember the hacking incident that made Yoshi leave). It may be a better idea to allow the second group in to test considering that those hand-picked by you must be trusted in some shape or form. It would be in everyone's interests (except for hackers) to see ALL new features tested before they are released on a wide scale . . . preventing bugs and security holes.

Of course, everything is up to you in the end, I'm just asking you to consider these details in your choice of action.
