Yeah yeah I know it's sad that he quit mapmaking but at least he gave us a helluva goodbye before he did. The 5th Station was yet small but it was also as unique as LoH was when it first was released and I really think that anyone who hasn't played it should.
Besides, I don't think that theres anybody that want to hear "no, no you made the wrong decision" just when they have chosen another path in their life.
Anyways to recap. I'm not happy that he left but I think I understand why.

Dude, that sucks that you're leaving. I thank you for your hell of a nice going away present, but I was REALLY looking forward to Deep Blue. Hell, two days ago, when I was playing LoH with my friend, he asked me if the you made any other RPGs. I told him you were making Deep Blue which looked really damn good, but now this. Well, I hope you find good direction in your life, but keep in mind, someone with as good of an imagination as you could get into videogame writing and concept design quite easily.

Some of you map makers need to stop looking up to other map makers all the time, and start working on your maps. Just because someone is better than you at map making, doesn't mean you can't be better than than them. Any map maker can be out done by any other map maker. It's just a matter of time and motivation. And early map makers usually have the most motivation.

Anyways, alpha does have a point. I may be sad that PirateKing has suddenly went and killed himself for no apparent reason, but that doesn't affect my mapmaking at all. You usually learn young not to take humans are role models. Take example, Tuxedo-templar. The first word he ever said to me on Battle.net was "......". Was I discouraged? Not really; people are busy at times and can't always be God in your eyes.
So basically, mourn, and then move on. Time waits for no map.
