Vegetables do too.

I don't think so.

QUOTE(devilesk.)
There are millions and millions of bugs in the world, we won't go hungry eating them.
We'll also get a lot of diseases.

And some things taste better to different people.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-07-07 at 19:53:03
And why would we get a lot of diseases? We have the same chance of getting disease by eating animals.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ultimo on 2005-07-07 at 19:56:18
Since insects aren't a very clean species.

I play football....It really depends what position you play, and you can take pills to get the rest of your...whats the word, vitamins? I guess you could say daily essentials
I might like the taste, but I'll still hate myself for actually eating something that was once alive, Im just that way >_<
Yes, plants are alive, but they're can't feel pain, and they can't think either.
Err, did you stop to think that if we didn't eat them, we wouldn't be breeding them to eat them, therefore, they would be wild, concluding that they would be free?
I believe any form of hunting is bad, especially if its for trophies. I'll understand if you're out camping and you need food, but why go work yourself for 1 dinner(depending on size of animal being hunted, and amount of people eating)when you can go find a large tree of fruit, or a bush with some delicous berries?

How do you know they can't feel pain? Maybe they have a subatomic brain or something, you don't know! lol.

If we didn't eat them, they would over populate the world. Then global overpopulation would really happen.

Hunting keeps the population of animals down. Do you know how many meals a full deer is? How about an Elk? Seriously. Kill one deer you have food for a week to a month (Depending on the size of the deer, the size of your family, ect...) If you was to kill an Elk, that's like food for 2-5 months (Again depending on the size of everthing.

And a large tree of fruit only lasts for so long, same with berries.

Hunting for trophies is bad though.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-07-07 at 20:04:01
No, not entirely. If you hunt for trophies and keep the meat it isn't.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ultimo on 2005-07-07 at 20:05:51
Then you aren't hunting for trophies...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-07-07 at 20:07:01
Sure you are. You keep the head for a trophy while getting the meat for food.

Talking about overpopulation, look at humans... Way too overpopulated in many areas. There's nothing to control THOSE animals.

That's true, but the world itsself is not overpopulated, and it probibly won't ever happen because we will eventually move into space (If we haven't killed ourselves already) and have different planets, and have a Galactic Senate type thing from Star Wars smile.gif

Correction: Starcraft smile.gif and then we'll get pwned by the zerg and the UED will save us all, then stukov and fenix will die and I'll cry everynight.

anyway, think about it, if theirs more things to hunt, isn't their more hunters? So clearly, if theirs more food for predators, theres more predators, evening out the populations and making sure they stay the same (I showed an example of this in an earlier post)

You know whats odd, don't call me a vampire or anything, but I actually like the taste of blood too, I mean my own blood. When I bite my lip I get pissed for only a little while because the blood is so good!

Actually, this is for cows at least, they feel no pain. Proven fact. They are led into this tiny pen where a guy walks over and with an air rod gun, shoots the cow on the forehead (point blank range) where the rod instantly hits the brain and and the cow dies instantly. No pain, its too quick. (he puts the gun right up to the animal)

Thats for cows at least, for chicken its a lot worse I think. They chop the heads off, but the chickens are still alive and they run around spraying blood every where.

What happened to that chicken that lived for 18 months without its head? Did he not feel pain? tongue.gif

Maybe when he died choking on the cornel that got stuck in his throat.

More pain for a chicken, I bet the scientists ate him... ranting.gif

Can you really blame the scientists for eating an animal meant for eating? =D.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Parthx86 on 2005-07-08 at 07:24:56
It wasn't meant for eating, it was meant for study and research. They were trying to see how essential the brain is to us, and comparing it to other creatures, finding more about ourselves.

Um, I dont think it really helps because well, when OUR heads get chopped off, WE DIE.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-07-08 at 11:25:48
Because of our Spinal Cord. It directs the electrical currents that are produced by our brain, to the nerve endings throughout our body. No brain = no electrical currents = no heart pumping blood = death

I remember some teacher telling us that like back in the days after the french revolution was won, the king's family was to be beheaded, but before they were, they were told to try and blink their eyes after getting their heads chopped off. And once their heads were chopped off, their eyes started blinking.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-07-08 at 12:21:56
That is because the thought was the last one in their mind, so it imediatly started doing so after the head had been chopped off. At least I think that's why....
