Well, I'm vegetarian and I know most of you think that animals are "bred to be killed". Well, you wouldn't think that if YOU were being bred to be killed. Animals have feelings and they should be set free. I'm not a PETA supporter though, they're all about stopping the cruelty in factory farms. That is NOT the problem, its the secret ingredients hidden in candy bars, cereal, and even cake batter. Some people just won't switch to being vegetarian, and we can't kill their opinion. But what about the people that want to be vegetarian, why are they putting all these secret meat products in foods? Discuss.

I eat what I want. If animals can't stop us from eating them - it's their problem.

We breed some animals to be eaten. That is their life, whether they like it or not, because humanity dominates them. PLUS, animals are nutritious; they have protein, unlike veggies. And you know what? I'm NOT an animal bred to be eaten, Parthx.

The only reason I'd ever go vegetarian is to avoid eating pork or otherwise breaking the Qu'ran's food rules.

But we all speak of equality, then you might as well just forget about all the people dieing, because they have no food water or shelter. Might as well eat them eh?

No, and I think PETA is kidna overreacting with some things but they are doing a good job preventing things like people skinning alive animals just for the fun of it, or cutting off their limbs while still alive and nasty things like that.

Off Topic :

www.PETA.com is a good site if you wanna have some fun wink.gif you know what i mean, people are getting undressed everyday to improve animal rights, in crowds, and hot women undress holding signs that say "I'd rather be naked then wear furr"

Uh... source please? I seriously doubt there's any meat in my Cheerios or bread. Especially, since it's kinda against the law to have secret ingredients where I live... People have allergies =-O

Many of the things you eat (you include cake batter, so I assume you eat cake) use eggs, guess what the life of the chicken who laid those eggs is? Just that, laying eggs. I'm not a big meat fan, but skinless chicken is really healthy. If you want to be a vegetarian, that's your choice, don't think it makes you morally superior to those who are not.

If anything should be taken down, it's fast food resturants, they're killing a nation.

Being a Vegetarian is not healthy. People say it is healthier, but it in fact, it is not. For two reasons.

Number one reason it's unhealthy, you don't get all the esential minerals and vitamins your body needs to run properly. But now since we have those vitamin pills and shiz, it doesn't matter anymore.

Number two reason is my opinion: Most Vegetarians (not all I mind you) are sick in the head in some way or another. Most vegetarians (but not the ones I know) belong to PETA and PETA, is just wrong.

I checked out PETA's main site and wow. The running of the Nudes! I wanna take part in it just cause w00t.gif

I said nothing of health. There's a lot of vitamins and other sorts of things you can take to get your daily protein, fiber, calcium and so forth.

Lucky Charms and other cereals that contain marshmallows have gelatin in them. Gelatin is derived from the boiled skin tendon and bones of animals.

The whole IVU can't be wrong now can it? And there's lots of other names for gelatin

Yeah, the people from PETA are going crazy because specific meat farms are cruel to animals, and because of that they want to destroy all meat farms? This is why I'm not a PETA supporter. Their whacked in the head, they think meat is gonna take over the world or something. I don't want to spread vegetarianism I just want to be it, if you don't care for animals so be it, but I do. They should make signs on Rice Krispies that say "Contains Animal-Derived Products" instead of "Delicous Marshmallow Squares"

I care for animals, just not like you guys do.

Some animals are meant to be bred to be killed for food (Cows, Pigs, Chickens, ect...) And some are meant for pleasure (Dogs, Cats, Horses, ect...)

I cannot comprehend or even perceive how you hate "Animal Slaughtering Farms"

Who gives a shit?

But I have one question for you, Where does all our food come from?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Parthx86 on 2005-07-06 at 11:18:47
Well, almost everything we eat these days contains some animal product. I used to think "salad" meant just veggies and such, untill I went to a fast-food resteraunt and realized they've found a way to add meat to salads too.

Well, I'm happy this got some discussion started and that you guys can come up with some decent arguements. Usually I just get responses like "shuddup vegan censored.gif " and I was just real sick of it, and reading these forums I knew you guys would show some decency.

How about animal testing, the animals that you said are for pleasure (I'm hoping you meen as pets crazy.gif sad.gif ). We put these animals through such hard times just to find a way to fix our own problems. We'll give some monkey a disease and inject cures in it to see if they work, and what if they dont? That animal just dies, because of US.

You still haven't answered my question lol.

Animal Testing is benificial. If it weren't for animals, we would all be dieing from diseases we could not cure because of no research put behind them. Animal Testing is kind of wrong, but wouldn't you rather have it be animals instead of humans?

Seriously. Environmentalists just look at one issue, and are to close minded to realise the benefit THEY get out of what they are trying to stop (Not calling you an Envoism but still)

I did answer your question, in the first two sentences.

Well, if it worked on animals, then it probably work on us, why NOT use humans for testing? It makes more sense. SOME cures only work on certain species.

And I am definetley not an enviornmentalist. What the hell, the trees are gonna regrow, theres millions more. We would've have many forms of communication without paper and not many sturdy houses without lumber

I meant, how is our food produced? Who produces it (I'm asking this cause most vegies say "In the supermarket" Uh durh!)

True, SOME cures only work on certain species, that's why we synthesize it to work for humans after we get a cure through animals.

I'm not saying you are, but you show traits of one.

Lol. You can only get that if you eat the brains or the spine of an animal infected with it. It doesn't disperse through muscles.

Don't be to hasty to say those things about me, cause then you will have other members jumping down your head *coughChriscough* lol

Anyways, that is what I have been told about MCD. I haven't researched it enough to even care cause the USA doesn't have the problem, it's those damned Canadians (But I still love you guys eh)

Quick Off-Topic Joke
There were two canadians sitting at a table and they were trying to think up of a name for their glorious country. They were pretty drunk at the time, too. So the left canadian looks over and says, "By joe i've got it!" The other looks over, "What eh?" And the left one just looks at him and says, "C Eh" The right looks over, "That sounds like a good letter to start of our Name Eh?" The left one looks back over "It Does Eh" They both looked at eachother, "C eh N eh D eh" "That's it! Canada!"

Lol, I first heard that and I was like muhahahahahaha!

Back on Topic
Fiber, Calcium, Protien, and a few vitamins aren't all we need to run our body though. We need a more diverse amount of each of them. Just eating vegitables isn't going to get you through life at a very healthy pace (You will probibly be sick more than others)

You have to have meat in your diet. It's unnatural for the body not to. Why do you think we have Canine Teeth? To get through that juicy, raw meat that we used to eat back in the day.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Snake)Ling on 2005-07-06 at 12:00:21
Well, Parth, that might be because all your arguments can easily be countered. I'll save other humans, but I don't give a shit for farm animals. And besides, as for Mad Cow Disease, I know a VERY simple solution: DONT EAT BEEF. Woah, didn't see that coming, didja?

And besides, being a vegetarian is well, eh. Lettuce and tomatoes don't really taste good unless you put in some dressi- OMG, it has meat in that dressing!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Parthx86 on 2005-07-06 at 12:10:47
Not all dressing has meat in it.

And look at out eating habits now. If some disease was to pop up (something besides MCD) in another few species of animals, which killed them quickly, lots of people would be doomed. We need to learn to get SOME veggies in our food, but lately, everywhere I go, people are eating beef, pork, ham, steak, and whatever other types of meats there are. If you're not a vegetarian atleast eat SOME veggies.

OFF TOPIC: Haha, when I first read the canada joke on a different site, I was pronouncing eh wrong so I sat there for 20 mins trying the understand the joke, but I finally got it haha.

Well, aren't we all just equal? We all eat, drink, and think. All of us have feelings. See, this is just another way to prove how power hungry (I use that very very lightlty) we are. First we own the whole world, and now a certain few of us just want their own race to conquer all.

Maybe you just walk in at the wrong time. Most people do eat veggies (if they aren't idiots) I eat veggies sometimes (Not alot anymore cause i'm not home anymore. Except on weekends. I will be eating more in Pheonix though, at tech-school smile.gif)

How is this another way to prove our superiourity? If you look at history, we have used animals even before there was a religion.

Seems to me that environmentalists are just to high on crack (Their parents had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much LSD in the 60's)
