Hmm, I remember my 4th grade teacher talking about swear words when reading a book that contained a lot of them. She was like it's just how people talk and some people just use some words instead of others, like one person might say "I have to poo/poop" and another just might say "I have to ". There's nothing wrong with that.

I believe all curse words should be replaced wish "Yoshi" lol that would be funny.

Honestly I would if I knew what the artists names were and the song titles. I know you may think that I'm using this to avoid having to send you the stuff, but my friend who had this stuff, moved to Arizona sometime in March. He just had a bunch of CDs and I brought my splitter so we could listen to 'em without having to use speakers, just headphones.

I honestly don't know any of the songs, but they sound really cool.

What if they go and look at some "over 17" persons post and its all... (You should get it)

I like the Item idea, except what if some little kid comes and gets it just so they can see what people are saying, or so they can just prove they can.

That's why I suggested it to be an option in the User CP.

You just have to set it to "Disable Word Filter"

And only you would see the words that are normally censored.

Other people with "Enable Word Filter" would see the censor smily.

If you do that may as well have "No Censor (M)", "Light Censor (T)", and "Full Censor (E)"

The M, T, E being kinda like the rating of a game:
M for Mature; every word goes (no filter)
T for Teen (whatever); the worse of the swear words are filtered.
E for Everyone; all words that are considered swear words are censored. And words that children should not be seeing.

Also, some kind of level like this could be added to posts so it filters out what people should be seeing. (So like people who have it set to "Mature" can see topics marked "Mature")

Requires some scriping though. (which I am sure is what IP and Yoshi just really want to do more of. lol )

Next you'll censor Peter. This is rediculous, every word can have an alternate inappropriate meaning if you think about it. Just tell people you're going to delete posts and ban people who use words in a vulgar manner. Problem solved, right?

Well, things seem to have improved, but I believe the best method would be complete lack of censorship altogether, but punishment for using swears in an inappropriate manner. Yes, there are contexts in which even the f word is legitimate, and there's always a "mature" warning. Then again, what does this stop? We all know these swears exist, and what they mean. People are going to swear in other places, people will avoid the filters, people will still curse, even if the word is censored. Censorship is silly, and I really just consider it an abuse of power that doesn't accomplish anything.

Infested, the second half of your name shouldn't be censored because only in slang is it degrading. I don't know another word for it. This whole filter is flawed now.
