That's how the system has been for quite some time.

QUOTE
Felagund, how old are you?

Lol, I just saw that. Rexy, I'm old enough to have a job and make sweet love to you. Considering I'm sitting on a small fortune of an inheritance from my deceased grandfather (which will soon all be lost to college, thanks to the burgeoning costs nowadays), $400 is not that hefty of an amount at all.

1650 minerals for the pot.

I'm thinking about doing something but one question does it matter if its a .scm or .scx because to be honest I don't have a working version of brood war currently
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2005-08-29 at 21:35:28
I don't have any preference. It can be either - it doesn't matter.

answer my question

Sacred, the entry fees have been waived. (You don't have to pay to enter your maps)

Read the original news post the actual scoring is in there.

Organization: 15 (triggering and neatness)

QUOTE(Mini Moose 2707 @ Aug 29 2005, 03:33 PM)
Why does it matter how my triggers are organized? It doesn't matter how I design the map to work, its that it DOES work and works well.

Telling me to read a news post doesn't really answer the question. It contains what I'm questioning.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2005-08-30 at 16:54:05
We're checking to see if it's streamlined (enough, very lenient standards here), like not having a bunch of crap triggers, but this area is mainly to cover how polished the map is overall. It could just be "miscenalleous" for all I care. Does that answer it enough for you?

Can you spell Hoax?

Why would someone 16 years old (referring to his SEN profile, he claims to be 17 even though it says in his profile he was born March 1989, he'll probably change that later though) that is preparing for college pretty much "throw away" 400 dollars worth of valuable equipment that he doesn't even own at the moment for a couple people to throw some triggers together on some terrain in a game. It doesn't make sense to me. This is the same person that claims SC sucks and Blizzard is a pile of garbage, also, the person who ruined a long game by using a program that made the game extremely laggy and unplayable then came onto SEN and brag about this. I assume he'll just keep pushing the deadline back or something then come up with something along the lines "we couldn't get enough people to make maps so it's cancelled" or "I'm too busy with college" or something along those lines. He's the type of person that would do this simply for self gratification or something like that. Just thought I'd put up a fair warning.

I agree. Fela is a dumbass

Every game with him he decides to lag the whole thing with his crappy router...

I wouldn't waste time on a map for this. I already heard him in Op SEN telling people about "Wait til after this tournies over.. its going to be funny when it ends xD"
Report, edit, etc...Posted by wesmic da pimp on 2005-09-01 at 17:33:02
BlizzCon is giving away $64 worth of prizes to the person who makes the best melee map, and the map is going to be played by Starcraft professional players and hundreds of thousands of people are going to see it be played. This is going to end up costing felagund about $550 dollars, and after all the things he's done and been through, it seems a little farfetched. Some things are too good to be true, and I assure you that if you can make a map real quick on SC and get valuable prizes, it's too good to be true.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SacredElf on 2005-09-01 at 18:39:04
Wesmic, wesmic... not everyone have teh skills to make a good melee map, if he want to bring some good prizes in a map makin constest, is his own decicion

Something else: do u think blizzard is going to bring Gosu korean players of pgt?? and also, why waste so much money on a plain map on a old game, 64$ is enought for a melee map
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2005-09-01 at 18:47:36
This is warranted: you two are faggots.

I never said anything to the like of what MrrLL "quoted" me as saying, and I lagged one game months ago. Sue me.

*Edit* I'm at a complete loss as to where it says I'm 17 by the way.

You guys need to chill. I trust enough to go on with this, but if he doesn't, there will be new standards for prize contests and some serious reconsideration for Felagunds participation here.

But I know it won't come to that. You guys should be happy about this oppurtunity, and if he does backstab you, you can say to me "told you so" and I'll know better for the future.

QUESTION:

I have an iBook. If I won the contest, do you think it would be possible to put that $230 or whatever it cost for that graphics card toward a different graphics card (one compliable with my computer) or maybe even toward some other computer part?

We'll worry about that when the time comes. Do not worry about the prizes right now. Worry about the God forsaken maps!

And just putting him down helps at all? First of all, he is not the sole organized of this tournament, and if he does have that impression, I don't know who the censored.gif he thinks he is. This is a combined effort of myself, Temp and him. If he truely does ditch the whole idea of "real" prizes, then me and Temp will resolve it in whatever way we can.

Why do you also still bring the lag issue? If you hate it so much, don't play with him, simple as that. You only degrade yourself by mudslinging at Fela, and trying to make him look worse. You have issues, don't bring them here.

I'm not saying hes perfect or whatever, but seeing this sort of behavior is just dissapointing.

He has a point.

By the way, if he DOES somehow dissapear or something with all the minerals, could you possibly refund people for such a thing?

That kind of comment supports Wesmic's suspicions, does it not? wink.gif

As for the scoring, it might be changed, as Fela once again did this without the others consent.

There is a thread in the Clan aEp forum listing all the donors and all the current participants, if you really think that I'm going to leave. Henceforth Wesmic, MrrLL, and Valug are banned from participating in the tournament, even though they wouldn't have to begin with. I'm not taking this crap from them.

And Volcove, I actually took initiative and used my rights as a vice chancellor for once. You were just complaining about leadership, so here is leadership. I haven't even been granted moderation powers in the forums, but I'm alright with that.

You still get to help judge, but I am for all intents and purposes running this tournament. Unfortunately, I can't really trust either you or Temp, or any SEN member for that matter, except perhaps for the most reputable of them, and even then I'm wary. I am open to any and all suggestions. Unless you decide to help fund this, I don't believe that any supreme decision making rests on your shoulders.

And ok, you can go online and choose what prize you desire, but I don't really want to hear about. At least not yet, because I don't want to get hit with dozens of PMs telling me they want a 1 GB kit of Corsair XMS Ram or a Western Digital Raptor 10,000 rpm hard drive. The point of this tournament is to produce good maps. The prizes are the incentive.

Excuse me, but you did not start this at all. I believe that was temp, and you are simply absuing your leadership abilties to take complete control over it. You want something done, discuss it with both of us.

As for prize donation, I gave pretty much all my minerals for the cause, and you are the one that made up all the computer hardware prize crap, which honestly seems suspicious to me.

One more thing, what the hell gives you the right to tell me whether I can judge or not. I am the same rank as you in the clan, and frankly you have no right to determine my role in this tournament.
