I think that the Staredit.net should be for members who are responsible for their own actions, are civilized, unlike banned members, and are people who follow the forum rules.

Your grammar and spelling aren't so hot in this post, either.

We're not going to ban everyone who shows they aren't. But we do have a warn/ban system in place, and although its slow and tedious at times it hasn't really failed us much yet. It's the anonymity of the internet element that makes most people assholes or dipshits.

nope probably from my warn log and this argument has turned very weird because people have started to argue over grammar and blam like that. as long as you can read it then it is fine. you dont have to search a persons post for every little error. well im going to bed bye.

I was pointing them out because he said you need to write well to get into the forum, and while he was saying that he was writing poorly.

Guy, spelling obviously doesn't matter. We have Bolt_Head(U) to testify to that.

They got way off topic. I got really disappointed, and then I started to see the reason such a forum existed.

EDIT: The events going on in this topic are starting to make me change my mind. I just kinda wish that the criteria was stricter. Maybe only retired regulars and ex-mods (but that wouldn't work because it would exclude people such as DK).

So the high templar forum is a place where you can have discussions without filler posts of warhammer40000 and ViolentJ arguing about crammer. Carry on then I guess.
One of the things I'm worried about though, is that the high templar forum would become a place for some members to talk about how immature ViolentJ and warhammer40000 are without then being able to see.
If that happened things would get really bad once someone said in a PM: "Psst, ViolentJ, respected SEN member XY was flaming you in the HT forum".

Sure, its bad if you write things like

Its what you post and how often you use 1337 that counts.
I cant argue violentj and lots of other people are lacking in lots of categories, but if you make a few spelling errors we shouldnt get into a big debate of 'who spells better'.

There's also no need for many spelling errors when there's a handy SPELLCHECKER included in the reply form.

It's there for a reason, you don't know how to spell a particular word, USE SPELLCHECK.

If you know you spell like blam USE SPELLCHECK.

Seriously, why do people write you instead of u?
I've gotten so used to writing u on battlenet.
But yah, the people who know they have spelling problems should use spellcheck occasionally.

This will make u more respectable and less people would think of you as a poor idiot.

Abbreviations such as u in place of you shouldn't be used on a forum. Seriously, it's two extra letters, and it's the correct way to spell it anyway. Plus, when you are trying to say something serious, using u and other l33tspeek abbreviations just make you look like an idiot.

Your tone is very important when you write.

And for using spellcheck I don't mean you have to use it all the time, but when you know that you are trying to spell some words you aren't 100% sure you know how to spell then you should look them up.

So what if it takes "some" time. It takes like 30 seconds, and on a forum you have all the time in the world.
