What do you people think of the new high templar forum? Personally I'm very upset that SEN is introducing gated communities into it's forum, and I think that this elitist attitude is morally wrong as well as damaging to the community as a whole.

I think the idea of making people like me able to see it exists but not be able to go there is a deterrence to new members. And I think that who is in it and who is not will only serve to provoke jealousy and adversity between SEN members.

I also think that it will sow bitterness among regulars told that they are not "good enough" or "cool enough" to be included.

Tis true! I am upsetted by my exclusion of such a prestigous forum. I do conclude that a such thing only proves who are favoured more then others.

Erm, I don't mind really. But it should be hidden though. It's all in good and games right?!

If I knew what the reason behind it was I think it might be ok but right now I have no idea what the point of the High Templar section is so for now I don't really like the idea of it.

Maybe if the high templar forum was hidden...

Then again, it's too late to hide it now everyone's seen it. We can only dream of what goes on inside there.

I never get picked for anything period. So I wasn't really expecting to be part of this.

Because I never get picked for anything I have very strong opinions about gated communities and elitism. One of the only thing I have strong opinions about actually.

I agree with Sniper. It's way too late to hide it. The worst would be if they said they deleted it but they really didn't and just hid it.

Lying to the population of your forum = very bad.

Yes of course. I trust the admin/mods on this forum.

However I would be really pissed off if I was told it was deleted, believed it, and then later found evidence that it was not.

I mean "invite only" theres no way of getting in unless your favored. At least when (U) was invite only you could show-off a bit around recruiters and such until you got invited. Here.... you can't really show off unless you hide your opinions.

I feel that new High Templar forum is kinda stupid to make in this crucial time right now, because yoshi has left, many moderators resigned.

Yoshi would never make a protected forum, he knows that it would be unfair in the mapping community and would create Jelousy (as pointed out) and people growing distantly apart.

So i would say No to this new forum it should be deleted.

But, I doubt most of us would be complaining if we were invited. The sad truth.

its not that bad of an idea. its just 1 little category that has a few topics in it. and like ultimo said, what about the staff forum? they could have easily just registered a new board and done the same thing. just try to become respected and get in it or ignore it.

[center]This new forums goes against everything SEN stands for. SEN is built on sharing information freely, whether it's map making assistance, tutorials, or the DLDB. Nearly none of the features of SEN require you to be a registered member to use. Now for registered members to be denied use of features is complete hypocrisy. The Staff forum being hidden to most users is a good choice, there are dscussions in there that not everyone needs to see.

I was kidding about the Staff Forum. There is issues that need to be discussed under the shroud of mystery only seen by them, since if they're discussing if they should ban person A, you couldn't let person A see it or he could possibly start something up.

Though, it could just be Mini Moose 2707 pulling a joke on us so he could laugh at us later since we got worked up over this.

For Christ's sake. Get over it. There are probably another 983 billion hidden forums from you people, and this one is the same thing except only this time, it's not HIDDEN.
