Nothing. Nothing happened so far, so nothing will happen now. According to the rumors that I searched very recently, it will be the invention of time travel, making it the "new" age.
But it is kind of cool to know that there was a group of people smart enough to make mathematical and astronomical calculations this accurate without any technological devices... Nothing more.

.. you know rome has no power like it used to right? Their is like lots of religions and catholicism isn't as strong as it used to be. If rome so i hear "falls" it wouldn't affect much.. and i belive pop benedict could stay alive that long.. it's only 6 more years. But i think it's incorrect and doesn't make sense. No way you could predict something of such great accordence.

The date is suspicious also because it's just 12/21/12, with the same two digits, so it can be a fake.

Well all I'm gonna say is it better not end that soon because then I won't of lived much of a life. But what I don't get this topic. A pope will destroy rome and the whole world will end. Thats a load. That's kinnda wierd.

I know what will happen that day! I know that USA will switch to Digital TV, and completely stop the broadcasting of analogical TV on 2012!

The destruction of the world has been predicted by religious groups how many times now? How many times has it not happened? I rest my case.

This is nonsense, in my opinion. No one really knows when the world will end. Who knows, it could be tomorrow, 10 seconds from now, or a year later. I say we should just get on with our lives and wait.

I personally think nothing is going to happen. People were over exaggerating about the 6/6/6 date. Nothing happened, and nothing will happen now.
I think this all started by one person heard about the Mayans predicting this and it went on from there. For all we know, the Mayans predicted that all the ants on earth will perish.

The numbers of the date obviously don't have any significance, since the mayans didn't do dates according to when Jesus was born. They were in Central America and had never heard of the guy. People just converted their calender system to ours and came up with the date.
The mayans were freaking smart and advanced if you really look into it.
However, I predict that the world will end when Starcraft 2 comes out. Which will be never. So go us.
