Ok, here we go again with the angry Wooden... All he did was ask what you were doing. Now, I have known Urmom long enough to know that he wasn't attaking you, just asking a simple question, that required a simple answer. closedeyes.gif

Yea I wasn't attacking anybody. I was just asking a question. I don't see why people are getting mad, I like the team thing. I just wanted to see who was doing what and such.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-05-20 at 22:57:59
The question could of been asked much differently...

Anyways... -.-

I just got back from about 3 hours of talking with Taylor on the music send of the scene and he says he can put together a large amount of loops and such for the project.

I plan on piecing many loopable song segments and make gameplay vertually all containing background music as well as professionally done ambient noises.

We will probably be adding spell effect noises and other additions for I have found a large amount of usable sounds which Mr. A has allowed us to use.

A good day for Music/Sound effects. smile.gif

I expect this map to at min hit 2 mbs. Gg.

If the terrain is being done by woodenfire obviously it will pwn.

Err... I think...

I just added a screenshot of the World Map on the original post. Its the terrain as is now which is around 85% complete.

Yay? :l
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2006-05-22 at 22:36:43
I know that it's only 85% done, but the entire upper-left quarter of the map looks pretty empty.

And, well, it's nice... and flashy, but there's no deviation to the terrain. It's the same style across the whole map.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-05-23 at 07:03:55
Even at 100% terrain... you will not see different terrain areas until my storyline begins to mold the areas required.

Good question to ask.

The picture is not of the interior terrain types either. So you still have Caves, Dungeons, Jungle Caves, Swamp Caves, Marsh Caves, Temples, Cathedrals, Inns, Venders, Castles, Forts, Houses, and many other rich terrain environments which you will find throughout the gameplay of the map...

hey dude. Thanks for letting me test your map. The terrain definitely looks like it has been worked on for quite a while. It's quite interesting because many ppl don't focus on the terrain as much as you do XD. I think it'll come out good, don't give up on it biggrin.gif

Hey, you thinky ou could make a version w/o the extra sound?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by alazyguy on 2006-05-23 at 21:57:52
Are there any difference between melee and ballistic weapons? It seems as if ballistic weapons get more damage and also have the benefit of being ranged.
Then there's the fact that pierce ignores armor while ranged doesn't.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-05-24 at 07:03:37
Bow weapons all have perice if you read the item list...

Ballistic weapons miss more and are much slower (ghost cooldown speed) while melee units like the Ling fire quicker (but we slowed this for practical reasons)

Meleers get more powerful weapons a little bit later then ranged/magic heroes will... I am tryin to slide it so that they are all balanced.

We can increase/decrease accuracy, critical hit chance, dodge, blocking, and other aspects based on what weapon your using... not to mention the TYPE of attack, Sharp,Pierce, or Blunt...

Changes can always be made if needbe.

What is the approximate map size ?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Richan on 2006-05-24 at 11:32:05
OK, maybe this is a newbie question, but how will the map be the best of Bnet if its size is approximately 2 MB, (or more)?

See ya! wink.gif

I doubt it will be the best on b-net, but it may become the best on SEN. Most people on b-net are noobs who do not rate the quality of the map.

I really have to start working on storyline more...

I have a 28-scene storyboard drawn out with pictures and descriptions but it only works out to be like... an hour or so of gameplay... maybe 2 hours with cinematics and wondering around might push it up to 3 hours without getting bored.

Updates on the production and such will be made shortly.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Oo.Insane.oO on 2006-05-24 at 18:28:39
I think that an hour or 2 will be good you dont wanna stretch it too far and make it too boring smile.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-05-25 at 06:58:53
Well, its just estimated time, If you did minimum battles and such, you could probably get through the 28 scenes in about 1 and 1/2 hours... So thats not horrable seeing that about 30minutes are Cinematics... :l
Report, edit, etc...Posted by AshaMeD on 2006-05-25 at 14:59:22
wow 30 mins of sc scenes they better be GOOD ASS scenes!! lol >_< lol... Mby 30 mins a lil bit 2 much!! 2 watch on a sc map!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lethal_Illusion on 2006-05-25 at 15:45:37
The 30 minutes will be spread out of course... It will be like 5 completely different scenes, not one continuous scene, so don't worry tongue.gif.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by AshaMeD on 2006-05-25 at 15:48:39
Well duh.. it wont be the same time... but Sc Scenes arn't the best unless you make them all... Tux Styles lol and i don't think they will be >_< or will they?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2006-05-25 at 16:29:51
So that world map is only of the exterior locations? Okay, sorry. I didn't understand that before!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Oo.Insane.oO on 2006-05-25 at 16:30:32
30 mins seems reasonable for 1 hr of full gameplay
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-05-26 at 07:36:59
The intro will take up the most scene time... the other cut scenes are quite small.

The only reason why the time is long is BECAUSE i included Intro time. Ugh.

Tux quality? Would you expect anything less from this project? -.-

And BTW, he didn't do cut scenes, he made trailers that were good. I have a person actually doing custom epic type music for huge scenes. I will try not to have too many CLIMAX type scenes because if I keep doing that for the length of the game, it will get mad boring and repetitive...

I must stress, this RPG is about Storyline...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Richan on 2006-05-26 at 17:13:45
What about if you've already played the map, failed to win, and want to skip the long intro?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Marandule1 on 2006-05-27 at 10:46:24
yo fire you still need any beta testers?
