This map sounds way too great! Everything i read about it looks amazing! I hope you finish it thought! And that it is as good as you say, a lot of people say their maps will be great but, ither they don't finish it, or it' not so great as they said. Anyways, keep up your good work and finish it soon, that the kind of map everyone should love playing.
The interactive menu selection is nothing new at all. If you saw Tux's Oregon Trail map, you know what I mean. I used a gateway instead of a dropship, but it's really no big deal. I guess this is one of those things you have to SEE to understand...

It was a pain, but I finished it all a long time ago. I'm pretty much finished with the engine at the moment. I haven't done monster drops, but I have the triggers all worked out. I'll fill them in once I've got the monsters balanced and organized.
Work on the story stuff has begun. I've got the first few acts written out, so all that's left is to actually put it all into the map.

Ya, really, it's going to take you a real long time and really a lot of trigger to do the menu thing. And all those armors, weapons, items. You really love map making huh? I don't have all that time to do all those tings. If you do complete it, You're great! But to what I see, you look to have done quite a good part. Hope you finish soon. It will be like a Chrismas gift of something!!

Like I said before, it's less than half complete. The ENGINE is about 80% done now, but work on the story (which is more than half of the map) has just been started. If you want a tentative release date, I'd say some time late next year.

It can't take that long, unless you mean 2005. IF you don't, then really, how can a map take you over a year, you know? even the best maps maybe took 3-4 months but a map that takes one year...
Chaos... a 1 week map is can be looking great... Tuxedo done a great movie about 12 days of christmas in 1 night...

Some people, like me, don't have the ability to work straight on a map for a couple days..so I take breaks and pick the game up again in a couple days. So i can see how it might take a year to make a map.
This map looks so good.. i've never actually been excited for a Starcraft ums game to be finished, but i don't play many UMS maps anyway only the most uber 1337 games like basketball

Strings ...A small word, but a Huge problem for many maker...

Menu strings can get reused very ezy, unless prices change in shops. Just use death counters for the menus or whateve pirate using and simple as that.

I've looked ahead to the string thing already. The menus don't use many strings at all. I don't comment my triggers (unless you count a blank comment), so that saves me strings as well. Also, I'm planning on only using about 100 locations (location names take strings), and I'm not naming my switches. All this put together leaves me with quite a few open strings.
It would all be different if they had infinite strings
infinite strings lol and infinite locations u could do full on rpg like Chrono Trigger in starcraft i only map size was bigger.
