If you could choose one screenshot of anywhere on your map, where would it be and why?

It's not neccessarily quality that makes a map great. I've learned that from my Omaha Beach: Operations map... Though people on SEN don't like it, everyone on B.net likes it, because I show them how to play and well... People don't like a map when they don't get it or it's lacking fun. I'm sure my map just not understandable. Hopefully Wooden makes a good tutorial for this, maybe in a seperate map (such as a trailer). biggrin.gif Good luck wooden (stay out of my channel). mad.gif

I don't think this is really being made for the masses... the masses will be too stupid to realize what this map is.

iunno, ive never seen your map on bnet lol.

but its true. complicated maps that are very fun when you know what your doing dont get played as frequently as simple maps that require no prior knowledge or actual "skills". look at miles laser tag. that probably took a week or so to make if he balanced it right the first few times, a month at most. and it gets played ALL the time.

One of the major aspects of the systems used in Crescent Dyne is the simplicity displayed to the user.

You can be a veteran player and realize that the system can display full item stats such as durabillity, critical hit rates, accuracys, and other semi-important stats, or...

You can be a newb player and just quickly realize the ease at which the system operates and handles.

I really hope I can get some good screenshot pads up for you perhaps... I don't really want to spill the beans with how the system handles and such, I can just tell you, its very professional, clean, and practical.

OFF TOPIC:
Wooden has more than enough skills to talk about himself. He knows how to create Professional Maps.

ON TOPIC:
Question, I know you don't want to go too in depth, but how will be displaying all of the stats? Will it be via death counts and the Leader Board tables? If not, I am quite interested in the interface aspect. biggrin.gif

There is a fourteen digit minimap display system which displays comparitive stats when you select different items in your inventory...

A display could look like this:

QUOTE
DMG-S14
        B01

This would show that the weapon you have selected, if equiped, would bring you up from your already equiped amounts. The item reads, S14, meaning, Sharp weapon type with 14 total physical damage. The already equiped number, from this you can tell it is the Zergling warrior because its hands, when no weapon is equiped, do Blunt 1 damage.

When the item is equiped, It shows a display instead of the Equiped numbers which would just be repeated because that would be the item you have equiped!

You can go up/down your list of items to select a different item, or left/right to display different Detail pages.

Pages include Base Stat, Durability, and two Specific Effect pages.

Base stat would include the following for these types of items:

• Weapon - DMG-###
• Armor - DEF-###
• Item/ Potion - Quantity Amount as a ###

Durability shows as 'Wear-##'

Durabillity is out of 27 max amount. Small items get 3, medium gets 9, and large items get 27 durabillity. Smaller items and large items get marked off durability at the same rate, the numbers just show more accurately how your items are holding up.

Specific Stat pages display other attributes of items such as Life/Soul Leach, Mana addition, Mana Regeneration increases, Accuracy, Critical Hit rates, and much more.

All of these systems come with a very easy help dropdown menu.

Everything may be done without looking at anything but the area your hero is walking around at. The shuttle command system handles all of these options.

We made it so that moving the shuttle from its original position drops down the Help for each specific area. This will display what each of the 8 units inside the shuttle do, as well as help for speific pages which use abbreviations which you might not understand. Detail pages with M for Mana, and R for Mana Regeneration will be just a few listed especially under the individual help menus.

Each menu contains a cooldown rate which allows you to reexpand the menu, but only after a specific amount of time. This provents accidental repeating and spamming.

There are many other systems and safetys that this system contains, but I really can't tell everything. For my own purposes, I will not be explaining this on the main thread because this reveals quite a few in-game features.

All of the systems listed above are completed. Nothing was "fortelled" in the msg.

After hearing that, I'm not sure if this is completely true:

I don't think the average player would learn that very quickly, although, I guess it depends on what you consider a newb player.

Wooden has never made a single map. I don't understand how you guys could say he's a god of map making. He may be a god of terraining, but he is NOT a god of map making until I've seen something complete from him. GG owned, cry.

yes, he has made a map(seigedyne), but it doesn't seem like he's made one recently, cause of CD probly.

agreed, most people in bnet are incredibly stupid, even when you inform them of something, they'll still keep making the same mistakes. that would be one of the things that would make cresent dyne Bnet unpopular.

still doesnt excuse your complete arrogance.

How are you going to incorporate the 30-ish weapons in your map? The armor would be easy since you're basically just modifying the health... Is combat turn-based or freelanced anyway?

Why are you guys being such ass holes? Cresent Dyne looks very professional, but as for the fun level, I'm not so sure. As for DLK's beach game, if people atleast play it on b.net, he's beaten the rest of you.

They never show up on bnet ever... and if they ever do.. everyone quits after they hear the techno music in the war map... not such a smart idea.... also... just cause u got knocked out of hy doesnt mean u gotta start sayin stuff about ur channel... also... no one even knows ur channel cause u delete all 25 of ur "Friends"(from the internet) off after they join a public game...

On topic:Nice map wooden.. still waiting to see how the meba system looks like... screen shot it if u have the time plz

Most likely because you respond to everyone in an arrant manner; flat out telling them that their map sucks, constantly mocking peoples' ideas, and claiming yourself as the best.

Whether or not they have good ideas or bad ideas, you should at least give them the courtesy of improvements or encouraging them to fix it or spice it up a bit.

I'm sorry to tell you, but people dont really like your kind of attitude.
