Then how do you explain the testers who have seen this stuff? Are they making it up too?

Yup. I can't even imagine a person making a topic about a map that he doesen't totally have, or is lying about conceptual ideas.
vW5 of Terrain
What are we making up as we go? O:
Um acctually I've seen the terrain already. As bad as it is, the map is acctually there.

You can't even do your own ISOM terrain, so I suggest you seriously STOP POSTING in this thread.
On topic: Wooden, I have browsed a few pages but didn't see it. Are there going to be certain places where monsters spawn continually, or are you just going to progress through the map and kill preset monsters?
Mind to tell me how PS2 RPGs, which take up several GIGABYTES of space on a DVD DISK have less gameplay and construction as a 200+ KB .chk file?
If you're going to try and put 70 hours of gameplay into this, you might as well waive the summer release date and set it back by about three years.
Wooden doesn't even do his own triggers, so I suggest he closes this thread.
He comes up with most of the ideas, and Lethal even admitted it.
There's nothing wrong with team projects, except when you don't even credit the people that did the terrain...

It is my understanding that this is a several MB file, actually. And many PS2 RPGS have well over 70 hours worth of gameplay; however, the player rarely takes the time to go through it all.
How did things come to be a dispute over console RPGs and this? Obviously, this can't beat out console RPGs, but the effort alone makes this an interesting SC RPG, to say the least. However, if many PS2 RPGs have well over 70 hours worth of gameplay, and the player rarely takes the time to go through it all, what makes one think that the player would decide to go through the entire 70 hours worth of gameplay here? Simply put, this can't compare to actual console RPGs, but it's pretty much a top of the line SC RPG, if it does live up to expectations, that is.
And team projects are good. From what it seems like right now, they seem quite coordinated, which I find to be a rather impressive feat. It's not easy to collaborate and interchange identical ideas between several people, after all.

What happens when you run out of letters?

I too find it impressive that you can make progress as a team, because in my experience, team SC projects are the least productive things on Earth.

Im flattered to be compared to a Console RPG... But I don't think just as long an RPG on Starcraft needs the GBs of space that fancy PS2 graphics require... and what about all of their uncompressed sound files and ACTUAL cinematics...
O:
version Z of terrain is the finished product... If you were here around pages 5-20, you would of known that...

What is with all the hate-comments? I don't understand it.
The way the team aspect works is... Both lethal and I have ideas which we ask wooden if he likes or we could implement them into the map. A team must have a lead... In this case a major lead that has the overall picture of what it should look like in his mind. Also having an excellent trigger guy (lethal) doing the major part of the trigger... prob all. Then having someone doing the terrain. And just all collaborating. As Wooden often says, "This isn't a Democracy! What he says goes because he is the lead. That’s what previously attempts in sc map making don't have.
At least WoodenFire gets more attention than you do DLK.
You have any waterfalls in the map? So 70 hours of gameplay? Going to be at a nice size of map and alot of saving going to be done in SC lol...
I hope it's not too complicated because if it is, the fun factor goes down the drain. Then all this waiting and suspense would've been for nothing and I'd be pissed.
15% done with triggers and you want to release it by this month?!
You is loco!
How can someone do triggers and someone do terrain anyways? I thought you could only do one file at a time. Or can you import triggers now?
I have an old prgram that can import/explor from any map Terrain, Triggers, Locations, Sprites, and Unit Placement seperately.
Works perfect for this sort of system.
We don't update the map too frequently with terrain, he had version N of terrain while I was on version W... So when we put the new terrain on the map, it was quite an upgrade to say the least.
So when will you finally call it quits on the terrain?

I see you don't respect other people's efforts. And you are on my tester's list ?
You know that you can use uberation to import and export things too? You might want to try that, it might be more reliable seeing as it is newer.
DLK, just cause wooden didnt physically
do the triggers doesnt mean anything. He came up with all of the systems on paper man. Lethal just followed mindless instructions. (not to put u down lethal-- of course) Wooden came up with the actually way the battle system would work and what not, so dont discredit him for not being the one to type in the triggers. You yourself could not produce work nearly half as good as what wooden has done/conceived, so until that time, keep your mouth shut.
~ How many ears do you have--2, how many mouths do you have--1; so that means you should listen twice as much as you talk and talk half as much as you listen.

Let's keep the discussion on Crescent Dyne.
Some off-topic posts deleted.
There's really not much to post...
So, how's the trigger-input progressing?
Yea so anyway...
Screensaver system is basically done, except for some small modifications.
