I created a location there in the bottom left, and for some reason trying to create a new location moves that one. Also, Units will spawn in that spot (as shown by the assimilator), but won't move. For some reason, my cursor didn't show up in the screenshot. I saved and re-opened SCMDraft and it works fine.
Hello, I have found a bug in resizing my map. The attached file is the first map of my campagne that I wanted to resize in SCM draft to be a new level, for some reason when you resize this one map it becomes useless. When you go to load it in Staredit or Starcraft it crash the respective program. Please help.[attachmentid=18962][attachmentid=18962]
Uhhh im not sure if this was said b/c i lost paitence after reading up to page 4, but scdraft messes up my briefing after i save in draft, also the random start location box is unchecked but the player colors are random...
sry if this were alrdy adressed, i have scdraft 2 ver 0.6.0
Another bug.
On the map I was making, I put 6 of the Sprite Unknown 4 on my map, and when I tried to play it, SC keeps crashing.
When I removed it, it played just fine.

The mission briefing editor doesn't work. It says so in the readme file.
There's no reliable way to edit mission briefings with SCMD2. I'm not sure about the random start location bug; it works for me.

It's not a bug with SCMD2; SC just can't display some of those sprites.
Every advanced editor can let you place a lot of sprites, some of which aren't supported by SC. However, they can have other good uses.
The mission breifing messes up switches ?...
Hmm maybe that was the problem back then...
But i have to say that you CANNOT rename switches with Classic Trig Edit and Trigger Editor plugin onec messed all my switches up somehow. Dont ask how.
AND YET IT CONTINUES!!!Anyways, SCMD2 has several bugs which are very annoying.
1) It sometimes crashes and says = Something Bad Happened. Would you like to save your file? = (or sumthing like that)
2) Occassionaly it displays Stynax and Trigedit problems.
3) Rarely it crashes instantly. (happened to me once)
4) Several Sprites just kill SCMD2.
5) Appartenly, the ISOM mode doesnt function properly.

Um, what? The isometrical terrain editing mode is something that SCMD2 has down very, very well. Which version are you using? SCMD2 0.6.0 Beta 2 #2 (yes, the nomenclature could use a little work) never crashed on me, even if I tried (and I did try, in order to find bugs). Especially, I haven't had any sprite problems in SCMD2 in the latest version, let alone certain sprites "killing" it.
So, once again, which version are you using?
Here's something that really annoys me:
While I was working with isometric terrain, whenever I would go to select a different terrain it wouldn't select it. I found that this is because I move the mouse while clicking it. I have to stop my mouse over it, click it, and THEN move it away every time. This gets annoying seeing as I like to work very quickly. Not sure if this has been posted before, but I still think it should be fixed.
One time when participating in a 30 minute mapmaking contest, I double clicked a location I just made to change the name of it.. bam, froze. Honestly have no idea why it happened, though, but I didn't submit a map for that contest

I think this was fixed in 0.6.0 Beta 2 #2. So were many other aforementioned issues. The only
confirmed bug I can remember isn't really a bug, but is more of SCMD2 automatically recycling strings. There was another issue with a Russian install of Windows, but that's a whole different story...
People, honestly, GET THE LATEST VERSION before even thinking of posting here. Then, just to make sure we won't ask, post the version number along with your OS version/language setting. Then, describe the situation in which it crashed (what were you doing exactly at the time of crash), because saying "omg trigedit sez 'crash' wut do i do?" doesn't help.
Its in a way like a bug
They need to make it so it shows the sprites in 1 kind of position and such. like if a unit is walkin there would be like 5 different sprites of that unit that complete the walking loop
I was working on a map with Scmdraft2 and everything was going fine.
But suddenly it crashed with this message:
Naturally I re-opened the editor and tried to go to the backup database to restore my map. It crashed with the same error message. I tried a few more times, same thing happned.
So I opened the map and just started redoing the work I had done before the crash, but trying to save crashed.
I rebooted, no change. I reinstalled Scmdraft2, no change.
Lots of things are causing this same error, even just leaving the editor open and doing nothing.
Apparently some other people have had this happen, but I didn't actually see a fix for it.
___
Scmdraft2 2.0 (Beta 0.6.0) Public prerelease #2
Windows XP Professional
Uh... try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Runtimes?
I seem to be able to run Scmdraft2 perfectly normally from any directory besides C:\Program Files\stormcoast\SCMDraft2
For example, right now I have it in C:\Program Files\stormcoast\NOT_SCMDraft2 and everything's just fine.
It's kinda weird.
I have a real big bug with my map. I worked a lot on it and it's really making me angry because I just can't play in it. So here what it is : When I go test it in Solo, I press on OK (to start the game), and then it brings me back to where I was (where you select the map you wanna play). Is there anyone who already faced that bug?
Crazy, if i open maps by double click this error comes when saving... though if i just open the editor with a shortcut it doesn't O.o
I posted in another topic but I guess I'll post here too;
Broodwar won't let me host my games. It says: An error occured while trying to create this game. The only thing I can think of being the problem is that it doesn't show any human or computer players. But; if I load my map onto X-tra editer (and lose my unit colors and a few other things) it loads just fine.

May those unit colors and few other things are kinda corrupted... try checking you didn't do too much weird stuff
It's not really a bug but why do I need other editors to make one of the basic things a map needs - THE BRIEFING
So easy to make it with other editors yet so annoying that I need more than 1 editor.
Switch 10 doesn't work. Sometimes, text messages don't work. I use SCMDraft 2.0 Beta on Windows 98 (yeah, I said 98).
*laughs a bit then looks around to laugh some more*
ok well srry for that.
Anyways:
the version i was useing was 6.0. I dun kno so... WTF HAPPENED, now i reaslise that i made my map size to big. 25 MB (yes MegaBytes)
I have Windows XP and my scmdraft 2.0 is beta 0.6.0.
The orders attack and patrol have been switched.

well, I have some things to say.
1. fix the string table, (possibly so it references patch_rt.mpq and stardat.mpq) so that the colors appear as they would in game, the colors appear differently in 1.14, and there are also new colors, they all appear differently. Also, change default(no color) to the default cyan, I like green, but that isn't how it would appear in game.
2. put those copy-and-paste thing at the side of the string table, I understand all the typing flow stuff, but I have the choice between continually referencing your .txt, or the SC colors one.
3. better organize this topic. Take the second post, delete it, and write what he said in the first one. Do this repeatedly until all the bugs you plan on fixing are in the first post, I don't want to sift through 9 pages of posts to see if someone's posted these errors yet.
