Yeah okay, there were alrewady 123796123786213 versions out before OSMAP, its possible that the ones that were open were stolen, not the protected ones.

Koltz raises a good point.

last time i checked before osmap there was only about 5-6 and they were all made by the original creators... i think..

if people are willingly to learn, they could just experiment with the map editor themself. everyone was once a newbie in mapmaking. people would just do trial and error off the editor would learn things about mapmaking. i learned things by experimenting with the editor before knowing about sen.

back on osmap topic, i don't really care about osmap. it doesn't have much of a drastic effect. it's not really taking anything away from you, not reputation or anything in real life. you knowing how to make maps is all that counts. but then again, people use up free-time to create maps, so whats there to lose?

I fully understand maplantis goals and osmap idea. I just DO NOT agree with it. Is that so hard to understand? Also open map making != osmap. I fully support open map making, release your map open as much as you want.

If you support open map making, then why do you protect your maps? There's a difference between tolerance and support.

Not even close, I had approximately 25 version before OSMAP, and none of them were made by the same people. (Well, 5 or 6 were, but that was just the original series.)

Now I'll say it again, If you have to resort to personal attacks, there's nothing left to debate about.

Even if there was only 5-6 and it was by the original creator, before OSMAP was around there was still tons of versions of maps like Cat and Mouse or Lazer Tag or Sniper Bold Locks or other defenses, arena, bound, rpg maps.

1. a decent map to play on bnet
2. all your hard work
3. people will join your clan (if you have one) because they think ur a good mapper
4. a non-rigged map to play on bnet

You guys totally miss the point. Maybe because you are too interested in speaking, flaming, and arguing rather than reading, listening, and thinking.

Thanks for the motivation to try to make changes.
