well when i was testing a number of the features worked and progression of the actual rpg should be beggining after a few more features i still need to finish the custom buildings for wooden and i think its all falling in to place so well have to wait and see what happens because if there is a major bug in the triggers then this could become seriously delayed
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-06-17 at 10:52:45
knock on me that there isn't any major bugs...

I don't know how there could be with the systems all pre-designed but you never know.

do you think it will be bug proof? or still have some bugs in it when you finally present the map.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JaFF on 2006-06-17 at 15:05:42
In DeathKnights3, there was some king of Anti-Bug system... and yes the map was buggy, and it had a fiew major bugs (When I say major, it mean they totally spoil the game). That map made me think that CD can't be bugless. It seems too complex to have no bugs.

I have a question for Wooden. Ok the armor, helmets, belts, weapons etc...are they going to be baught weapons? Or are you going to make it when you kill a unit one of the items appears like in diablo?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-06-17 at 16:58:44
Both, better weapons at any which point in the game will be found and not bought, so buying items will always be a step below what you could of found through MagicFinding which means killing Champions/Higher level monsters for Locked Tresure chests (requies key/lockpick) and thus you may find higher level equipment...

I don't know how there could be bugs with the systems we layed out... I am quite confident we thought of every aspect where there could be major problems and solutions have been found.

DK3 was made by one person and thus not thouroghly cross-checked ideas and systems like what has been done on Crescent Dyne...

Alpha(MC), the maker of DK3, told me that DK3 had anti-bug systems and sketchy major bug fixing because of his disorganization with the masses of triggers, he said it was better managed then his previous RPG's but still took him far too long to find such bugs and change triggers to fix them completely...

We constantly test the maps and I constant imput my experience with debugging and cross-check Lethal's every aspect of the triggering layouts.

Nothing to really worry about as far as bugs or items. And please remember, this is a closed RPG, not an open one.

Yes, of course. You can change your weapon/armor/other items at any time during the game. And with the Display Board, the players can easily compare the damage/armor of their equipped item, and the item they're viewing for easy switching. You could even attack with your bare hands, but thats not that good of idea...

are the changing of armors going to change your unit? or just raise your defense?

It will raise the armor and/or any other specials it may possess. The armor, attack, specials, resistances, are all virtual. You keep your hero the whole time. No swapping.

I think this map is going to be far superior to your map
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-06-18 at 10:39:59
Lethal and I haven't let Tux see the map yet. I don't think a bunch of money systems involving employee efficency, payment, accidents, events, new equipment, new businesses, and other systems using a few mobile grid systems to serve customers or talk using business people could even match our Mebs system.

O:

You know a kid named bonelesskid/ triggamasta, he was making a secret map a while back which I prolly can't tell you about? I don't know, but maybe you could ask to see version of that, Rantent prolly has a newer copy then mine.

---Crescent Dyne---
Screensaver bug fixed that we called "Magic8 Bug" When stamina hit 3 digits with the ones place being an 8, it would bug and show up like 1_8, with no number in the tens place. Lethal later found that it was a bug with the number 9, not eight... Lol

Interior terrain is going along smoothly, about a completely new room design every hour i spend blending.

Building blending and mixed unit planning research has begun and is co-done by Shocko[xm] *claps* *Kills shocko after he does all the hard work*

Equiping items is being started and all of the item's imput stats will be entered.

What's the Mebs system Wooden ?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-06-18 at 19:13:19
Multiengined Battle Sys is Mebs.

Mebs was designed to detect who is attacking your hero and who your hero is attacking and do heavy amounts of calculations based on such aspects as Critical Strike, Accuracy, Damage, Damage Type, Armor, Armor Type, Ailment Effectiveness, Added Effects such as Soul/Life Leaching, Thorns, and others...

It appears just as any other vHP system with burrowed units except your hero unit damage never changes, except virtually when you press EQUIP on a weapon with greater damage, it will all of a sudden, seem like your kiling faster... It will virtually change the damage delt each time you hit an enemy.

Mebs can currently handle 21 mobile targets, 7 per hero, 3 different battle areas, all status changes including attack cooldown slowing/speedup, damage type, and much more.

Mebs is about 95% done. All Mebs needs is a cycle system which names targets as they run out of the battle area as Inactive enemys and thus places burrowed counters under that unit to keep the status type and life of that enemy.
