Even if they have no lives, the best you can hope for is a few weeks yet until it comes out. I guess you can wait a few weeks. tongue.gif

ADDITION:

Full Version Release Date : June 2006

Yeah, unless he changed it, and didn't change it on the front page, i think he still has like 13+1/2 days or so...

Today is June 26th... There are 30 days in June. So he has 5 including today, if he plans on having it out in June.

But people, stop worrying about when it comes out. When its out, its out. LIVE WITH IT.

You guys are talking about the release date too much. How about something on the map's progress and production eh?

One correction I would like to add, Hynk did not quit, I fired him.

Why did you fire him?

Hum...

Deadly strike as in Diablo II.
I mean like you have a % of chance when his life is under like 40% to kill it in 1 shot.

So, do you plan on adding deadly strike as a magical attribute?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-06-26 at 21:53:21
No, we are not making Diablo 2 RPG if you haven't noticed by now...

We have other magical attributes that weapons can have other than something like Deadly Strike...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by EviL on 2006-06-26 at 22:45:24
I didn't said it was D2 -.-
I just asked if you would put that magical attribute, since you use Critical strike.
Anyways ..
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2006-06-26 at 23:05:05
So let me get this straight - you fired him off of his own project? Now that deserves a hand for making me laugh. tongue.gif I guess since you did the terrain you had control over the project ha ha.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoodenFire on 2006-06-26 at 23:35:53
Hynk did about 10 triggers over a period of 3 months. I even had to teach him how to make the triggers he did for the map... He was in no way a decent map maker.

omg. Why have I not looked in this topic earlier... blink.gif

I can't wait to see this...

It sounds like, with all the systems, you will have to do every single combination of things, such as items slowing u down, and many other systems....It sounds extremely long and difficult to make. But seeing that its a team map....I say rock on! biggrin.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Zeratul_101 on 2006-06-28 at 15:59:01
well, i'd expect a little better triggerwork than that from Woodenfire, Lethal_Illusion and Ocean of Fire put together.

Q: i don't remember if you said this or not, but do you need to play with two other people? aside from difficulty issues. do some parts of the story require certain players to be present?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Blacker9Winter on 2006-06-28 at 18:32:15
Zeratul, to answer that-- no, u do not need to have all three players to play the game. However, if you are playing single player, or even with only one other person, in order for the game to continue to follow the storyline, the other characters will come in as computers for that section of the game. Its simply to keep things within the mechanics of the gameplay visually acceptable. Not to mention with reduced players comes reduced game difficulty.
Hope that answered it. By the way I'm the primary storyboard writer. and before [AE]Felagund gets mad at me for saying that. No felagund, u are the storyline writer, u just make shiz sound cool in the players head when they read dialogue. wink.gif I'm writing the acutal plot and events and such.

And FYI everyone, the game is like a story/book, broken into a trilogy. I'm about 1/3 (1 book) through the story-- thats about the equivilant of around-- 22ish hours of gameplay. Pretty intense stuff. biggrin.gif

So you are making a map, and a book about this? Or it is a book, and you are basing a map off of it?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Atreyu) on 2006-06-28 at 20:21:15
I think what he is trying to say maybe if im correct is WoodenFire made the story up and is making the map off the story he made. Either that or there is actually a book he is basing it off.

er, Wooden said he made this from scratch, so i doubt he's basing it off a book. i think blackwinter is just comparing the Cresent Dyne story to something like the lord of the rings trilogy, which is one story broken down into three books.

IRT blacker9winter

k, so kinda like what DK3 did then. thanks for the info.

Just to clear some stuff up... When he says book he means like chapters/events in the actual game and game play not a book that you can read. Wood and Black are constructing the storyline and the events that takes place within the game.
Hope this helps,
-Ocean

Alot of changes have recently been made outside the knowledge of my co-workers.

All three players will be requires to play the map.
An actual set of books will be created which is basically storyline scripting. So with scripting and the actual dialogue used in the map, we will have IDK, around 30 pages of typing? O:

We will pay almost equal attention to all the parts of an RPG...

• Storyline (Character Developement & Event Progression Goals)
• Terrain
• Complex Internal Mechanisms

So what if a player leaves or drops, game over?
