Hynk did about 10 triggers over a period of 3 months. I even had to teach him how to make the triggers he did for the map... He was in no way a decent map maker.

*CoughMore like 3 weeks -_-
And I did more than ten...
And I did actually quit -.- QUOTE(WoodenFire @ Jun 28 2006, 07:40 PM)
All three players will be requires to play the map.

you're freaking kidding me. do you not want people to finish your map? there will be
very few instances where 3 people will be able to meet up on a consistant basis(2 is alright, but 3 is almost impossible) to finish such an indepth map. i was planning on taking my time in single player mode looking at all the terrain and features , so much for that idea.
ewwwwwwwwww need all 3 players?!?!
I don't like the idea of needing all three players... It would be nice to be able to play alone. And with such a long gameplay... Nobody will ever finish your map.
There's nothing wrong with needing three people, i mean most of us have friends that come on at around the same time every day dont we?
I think the all player condition is wrong in general.
1) Who will DL your map via b.net ? Only the people on SEN will
2) Who will have the time to play 70 hours with 2 other people via b.net to finish the map ?
3) Lags will screw everything up very often
Your terrain and triggers will only benifit if you give the player the opportunity to play in single mode, because he will get pleasure from slowly passing the map and looking at the wonderful terrain, and being amazed by the triggers and so on...
Basically you've just lowered the popularity of your map. It's not very practical to make it a 3 player only map.
You still have time to re-think everything, WoodenFire... please don't screw it up.

Well, the map is going to be very storyline driven, and having all three players will help with the interaction and MagicFind aspects, which in the case of Diablo games was one of the most addictive areas of gameplay was killing champions and bosstype enemys for better drops... Three people will find weapons to equip eachother with and thus giving items to eachother will add an entirely new aspect to Crescent Dyne...
Now, if we find a good "Ghosting" type system which when storyline comes up, the other two or one heroes (if your playing 2 player) show up as they are talking with people, then I will gladly allow 1-3 players like I originally intended...
However, I will thus have to tone down single/double player modes as far as sidequests go because some of which require splitting up, finding dungeons that only your aloud in alone, and simultaniously going in front of the doors to open your access to them... Much more things require the different players so making it 1-3 players will make for much more trigger work.
--Offical News--
If you haven't noticed, its the due date today. June 30th. Crescent Dyne is not complete or nearing completion at this time. So without more fuss of the peanutgallery, I am postponing the duedate indefinitely for the time being.
The storyline is being writen, the music is being composed, terrain is almost fully complete, and trigger systems are almost fully complete. Storyline and cinematic events, spells, ect are left to be done.
None of you can complain at this for the progress we have made thus far and are still making every day.
I can complain! May 15 you said that I'd do the dialogue, and yet it is nearly July. For the record, I want it known that I guessed it'd be released in August quite some time ago.
Im just going to guess with all thats left to be done its going to be till atleast September.

I don't think that anyone was surprised by that.

Well... doh, the limit date whas a bit too early... but, if you can finish it before August, its still in time...
Anyway, good lock Woodenfire!
Please sum 1 look in my map's thread! The link is in my signature!
(sorry for this woodenfire, my map's thread is pretty empty...)
I see no harm that if you support my map, I support yours... O:
Tanks Wooden... hum, i got a question (if sum 1 asked it already, i'm sorry but i wont read all the 70 pages to found it) but, where do you found the poem in the storyline and, if sum 1 created it for the map, WHO THE freak MAKED A POEM LIKE THIS? HES PWZ0Rz!
Anyway, lol... i repeat it, good luck!
Yeah im not really gonna read through 70 pages and maybe this question was asked but when is the deadline? Last time I check it was due by the end of June.
And here I was hoping that now that June has passed, nobody else would come around here saying "OMG LOOK AWESOME WHEN IT COME OUT!?!?".
Evidently, not.
Wooden made it clear a LONG time ago that he really doesn't give a damn about the release date, because it's more important to him to fix every small detail to perfection.
Maybe you should edit the Title to say "I'll release when I damn well feel ready to", or something along those lines so that you stop getting all these people asking it.
Well but the good thing about due dates is you hurry up more that way, tough you don't always reach it =P
If he is really serious about making this map perfect I say, Wooden take your time. Im pretty sure alot of people agree.
What would you rather see, a bugless map in the end of summer or a buggy map now ?
It may be a bit rude to compare "bugless and buggy" to CD, but still, quality may suffer.
It's more like an incomplete map, or a complete map.

I say, continue your good work Wooden, we dont want a unfinished map! if it takes all summer, like jammed sayd, it will be better than a stupidly unfinished map right now!
So, continue it and take your time, ignore ppl pissing you off about release date, and have fate!
I wrote the poem in the storyline part and the small poems at the top and before the storyline.
O:
I will have to write alot more with the help of Felagund if hes still up for the job.
I have word that music is around 70% done as far as Taylor is concerned based on my current percentages. Hopefully we can begin Intro cinematic, Intro Credits, Intro scenes, and starting chapters within the next week.
