Just punish the people who whine about getting removed even more

Urmom's idea definitely doesn't work
Umm...I don't think that I posted a suggestion. Or maybe thats just my bad memory.
Letting in regulars would be kinda dumb, considering there are some morons getting close to regular status in only a couple of months time. -.-

but warhamma wasn't really talking much about the principles of having an HT forum, he was just being a grammer natzi.

Its Nazi, not natzi.
LOL!Letting in regulars isn't the main part of what I was suggesting. You can let in anyone for all I care. What I was suggesting is that you just boot anyone who doesn't follow rules in there. Give them one chance and one chance only. Eventually all the people who shouldn't be there will be weeded out, but the people that normally would have been overlooked have a chance to show they deserve to be there.
I just thought being a regular should be the minimum requirement though, would cut back on the flood of people allowed to see the forum.
You guys can brainstorm all you want, but I am under the impression that the mods obviously aren't going to willingly change their position on the new forum.
So here are some courses of action that you can respond with
1. Create a petition - This idea, is absolutely retarded. Online petitions have no role in anything online, and SEN is not a democratic website (what is?)
2. Boycott SEN - Wow, this idea even makes less sense. I'm sure most of the mods would want half the people to leave.
3. Hack SEN - I wouldn't be surprised if synd][cate already has modified MySQL data to give himself access. But considering almost nobody else here contains the knowledge, that is not a valid solution.
I think I've clearly made a point in that you cannot do anything easily to get access to the forum. Personally, I think the most viable solution is to make the forum viewable by all, but only the handpicked members can post in it.
I find it quite ironic that this entire thread would not be here if you people didn't see the forum. Was it displayed by mistake?
[rant]I have something to say:
"Who cares?"
What I care about is how pointless this thread is. If you're invited in to the forume, good for you, you deserve it. If you haven't been invited, deal with it. It's jusy pixels on a screen. If you're stressing about a hidden forum on a website that is based on a game that is older than most games, please, with all do respect. GO Outside!
That is my rant. IMO, this thread should be locked. All people are doing is beating around the bush hoping to get in. I bet once they do, the people will realzie it's nowhere near as prestigious as you people seem to make it.[/rant]
Everyone, all hail my new avatar, and heed it's advice.
Every single time someone says, "you look like an idiot", they mean "you are an idiot". Come on.
Oh, and I don't know whether or not he really was being an idiot.
HT forum is like Serious Discussion. Difference? On HT I can discuss things things with the old SEN members. On Serious Discussions my posts NEVER EVER get answered. I dunno if they are too intelligent or too stupid for the SEN users
Anyway, you have the Serious Discussion forum plus the Lite Discussion plus the Null one that have the same type of topics that the HT one has, but they have a bunch more than the HT one and they get answered faster and by more members.
Anyway, if you guys want I can post a copy of every topic that I make on the HT forum on the Serious Discussion one, then I will compare the results myself...
How about posting a list of the people in that forum?
Anyways, this forum won't matter for long (this site will disapear in a month or so, most likely...).
No, I can say that this site won't be gone in a month. Even idiots have a sense of loyalty and attachment to this site. A lot of idiot regulars too.
Btw Absolute, you look like an idiot.
We all know what the results would be clork.

Okay.
Why should the owners of the site continue paying for it?
... for the same reason they've always paid for it?
You probably wouldn't understand, you've only been here for a month so I'm sure it makes you justified to say this:

And let me in so I can end all arguments with a bronze fist.

Well, this is a StarCraft Map Making Site so it would make more sense. It's also the reason why a lot of people are regulars, they make maps and reply in those forums, they don't post much in null and stuff.
Actually, Urmom, you are completely wrong.
Lite discussion..
Serious discussion..
Those give minerals 2, and lots of people do that for minerals instead of posting map/mod making things.

Then only let in the original SEN members.. from what i understand you also let in a few new members, and thats the only reason im arguing.
QUOTE

That would reduce the general popularity of those people on the list with a few of the idiots who hold a grudge against people who have higher access..

True about the 'you look like an idiot' and the 'you are an idiot' things.

Im not an idiot..
Actually any idiot would think he isn't an idiot..
Well im quite sure im not an idiot, though i act stupidly at times (arguing with chuos
).
The forum is going fine. We are all having intellect conversations, and there are no spammers or flamers. That's the best part. We don't have people trying to make jokes out of serious discussion or any of that matter.
It's nice and clean.
No need to mock us about it then.
Well Silver-Dragon, it just seems to make more sense because this site was made for StarCraft. IMO, you shouldn't get minerals for any non-StarCraft forums.
In my opinion members shouldn't even be at SEN just because of the Other section, however that is not the case.
I am gone for four days and members are still bickering about this?
Get over it.
Apparently, most of you seem to not realize that this new forum are for the Elite members here. Old members, retired mods, and the good regulars. Not just for some "Newb/Noob" that just signs up and thinks they are everything in a bag of chips to freely flaunt their poison throughout the posts.
Like I said.
Get over it.

The recent posts aren't even really about being/not being in the forum.
My two cents:
If I wanted to make a forum for the oldies at SEN (or anywhere else) to have good old intellectual discussions, I'd prefer not to call it a "High Templar forum", and describe it as comprising of "hand-picked members" - though that may well be the way that some people think about it.
Rather, I would call it the "Oldies' forum", and describe it as having old people in it.
That way, it wouldn't be interpreted as such an "elitist" or "ego-driven" forum. If you don't describe how to get in, people won't complain as much about "not getting picked". There'd be no point in asking to be let in, because most people aren't "oldies", nor can they spam their way into becoming one. It wouldn't matter as much whether it was hidden or not, because the point of it is more clear and unambiguous - if we could see "Staff forum" but not access it, who would really care? We know what it's for, and we know that we're not a part of it.
I don't think that it's too late to clarify the purpose of the forum. And if people know what it's for, they probably won't complain as much.
Or as kellimus so strongly suggests, they'll get over it.
If the only people that get in are the oldest members, then us newer members wouldn't care. I was under the impression that it was hand-picked. Which is it?
