Locking won't make the problem go away? Where is the problem? I did something and I'm sticking with it, not much of a problem at all. Unless you've got a problem with me... in that case, bring it on.

Explain the problem. I don't see a problem here.
The problem I refer to is the fact that part of the SEN community feels that they have become "above" the rest of the SEN community, and have therefore chosen to schism themselves from it.
It is elitist attitudes that have been festered by a overall degrading quality of discourse that have contributed to this schism. Locking topics referring to this problem, and hiding behind virtual walls is not going to improve this problem.
The immature manner in which this problem has been approached in (in the manifestation of the high templar forum), is the sign of another problem as well. It's hard to tell where this problem lies, but I think it is with a few individual members who have problems with generalizations, have good reason to believe that they are above the rest of the community, causing them to automatically discount the thoughts and posts of many members because of arbitrary differences, and might also feel that they alone have the wisdom to decide who is "good" enough for inclusion.
There is nothing wrong with handpicking, but it should never be for inclusion into a community.
