If I recall, EGM said it was bland at E3. That probably won't stop you from buying it, will it?

yep in E3 they gave this game like below average... :\ they said it wasnt good at all. Thats what dumbducky was trying to say. And it probablly wont be like the old FF7.

Eh never said it will, I said it wont... Well its good Sqaure Enix making some shooter games, might make the FPS genre more of a hit to Japan. Becuase the only company they know is Sqaure Enix...

Blizzard is a very big company, they are probably making 3 unannounced games at the same time.
-Console Game(Console Division hiring). Acquired Swigin Apes. Sc:G is basically deannounced. Probably will be reannounced for Next Gen Consoles. Have there own building. Game is probably Sc:G for Next Gen Consoles and PC.
-RTS Team. This would be the original Blizzard Team. They are hiring for RTS guys and havn't announced a game since TFT. Have there own building. Game is probably an RTS Game. Probably Sc2, new franchise, old franchise new genre
-Diablo Team. This would be the people who were making Diablo(Condor) and then acquired by Blizzard 6 months before release. Have there own building. Recently moved building closer to HQ(RTS Team). Also changed name from Blizzard North to be unified under the Blizzard Entertainment name when they moved buildings. Probably Diablo 3, new franchise, old franchise new genre?

I think it will probably be starcraft run on an engine like the Warcraft 3 engine...a new hybrid expansion would always be freeking sweet though...I don't think starcraft 2 would be that good really...it would just be like another expansion and if not it probably wouldn't be as good (according to blizzard why they said they don't wanna make SC2)

I just hope that SC2 won't be on WC3 engine or such. Because WC3 engine sucks in graphics.

I agree. The WC3 grpahivs are spiky at some points and they seem very unrealistic (especially the undead).

The main thing that has to be upgraded on the Wc3 engine would be polygon limits and implementing new shaders. I guess throwing in a Dx10 renderer wouldn't hurt. Could make use of its geometry shader.
Other than that, when it comes to how things actually look it is up to the modeler. Wc3 looks cartoony not because of the engine but because the modeler made them that way. That was the art style they were going for.
btw the day and night cycle isn't a engine thing it's a game thing theres a fine difference.

SC2 history could be as colorful as SC history. First they may try to make it on WC3 engine, but they will get loads of bad feedback and eventually make a new engine for SC2 that will own WC3 like 10 times like SC did own WC2.

min you joking XD, it seems like bliz always work slow but really waiting for dx10... wow that makes it a Q4 2008 release if its earily. Well atleast b.net might not lag anymore, becuase everyone who probablly owns a Vista is rich...

Well I guess they could patch in a Dx10 renderer after its release.... They gotta start a Dx10 renderer sometime.
I'm not rich but I will be getting Vista very close to release. However I did built my computer which is very nice btw. I just wanna start programming for that .Net 3.0 framework. Although Battle.net will still lag cuz I got 56k!!! I send it up to my room wirelessly!!! Nothing else is around here besides satelite but thats got even worse ping times
. DSL is $10 cheaper than 56k + Extra phone line too. Actually I havn't been playing Online games for a while now.
