Do you really think Square Enix is going to end Final Fantasy at XIII? or do you think there going to go on....i don't think so, FF is still a goldmine cause theres so many people that'll still buy it, i think they'll keep making em until they aren't popular anymore (which might be a very, very long time)
what do you think O.O
Nope, they will keep making them. FF has been a very good source of income... why cut off something that makes so much money?
Personally, I think they should kill it. From my perspective, all of which Final Fantasy is is a very long game with very well laid out graphics with a storyline in which they change and tweak, but the plot still revolves the same way.
Single Player games will no longer be a big money maker in the future, MMO's, Multiplayer RTS and FPS are the future.
I agree with BeeR_KeG. They should end the FF series of games. Multiplayer games will be the future as he said, unless they make FF a multiplayer then they arent really going to gain any kind if income in the future.
I'm not saying they astill arent going to make money, there going to make a hell of alot of money but there popularity will still go down and eventually it will go down and end.
They might make a game where there is a single player option, but then you can take him online from now on. Like BeeR_KeG said, single player games probaly won't make a lot of money in the future, so they might just expand it...or discontinue it, either way.
I think they'll eventually be nudged out by some newcomer / other rpg. Either that or they'll just run out of ideas.
Yes, they should produse those FF games like china produces Nike T-shirts.
Well, square enix said they would. So they won't.
I say, the more parts of the game, the better, so to reach the perfect, they must make those FF games untill the end of time ! What could be better and more important than a PC game ?
P.S. I just wanted to say that.

Why will single player die out? There are still alot of people that
don't always want to play with someone else, myself included.
I see absolutely no reason behind that, I mean, I enjoy solitary time and I enjoy social time, and I like videogames with "privacy" as much as ones with a social aspect. Perhaps there will be more games with the multiplayer feature, but I don't believe single player games are going to disappear, die, or even become a small niche market.
People were alone first, and they've been together for a long time, but we've never eradicated alone. It has qualities to it that you can't have with people around you.

Single player will die out when funner and more enjoyable games come out that are not single player compatible. So this means that they will switch to the more funner game and end up playing multiplayer.
There are going to be more games with the multiplayer feature and I believe that the single player wont disappear either, it's just going to go down quite a bit. I can understand that people like having their privacy while playing video games, but wouldn't it be better to ask people for help on something instead of having to look on the internet?
Well FF is going downhill ever since 7... So yea they're going to stop it someday... FF 1 sold a little then it slowly rised 7 was just ridiculous. and now ever since that its been dropping...
About the single player thing, I think single player games give you something to do on your off time from all the "noobs, and newbs" and lets you sit in your own world. I also think that they offer more story, and a better feeling of accomplishment when you beat it.
Actually I didnt read what you guys said, but single player is great. Expect maybe some battle agasint other people might be cool. But single player is definatly a good things, and I mean MMO's cant have as developed story as single player games, and single players games wont die out. Its just that all of them will have some kind of online play.
Both are great, therefore they will coexist.
but they might jump off FF soon. Unless they get another big hit...
I'm kind of hoping that some new company will try to pick off the FF's, I mean the quality RPGs havn't been coming out much.... might be just me.
Xbox 360 is not a RPG system, there is like almost 10 RPG being made for that console. Got to say nice job to Microsoft, they are doing something which they didnt do with the orignal Xbox. The 360 is getting real nice 3 JRPG, Enchanted Arms, made by Ubisoft
Blue Dragon, and Lost Oddessy, which are made both by the guy who created the oringal FF series. And these are 3 JRPG that are exlusive to the 360, just have to say wow... And they're a lot more non JRPG coming to the 360.
ssshhhh! CAFG the ff guru approaches!
I think it was a shot in the dark by lyon, but ff13 was first intended(back in 2001) to be the last final fantasy. It was going to be the a crowning achievement dubbed 'Final Fantasy Anniversary' this lead to a popular and widely believed rumor that it would be a collection of the previous. Most believed it would have major elements from previous ff's, but not take place in a single one of their worlds, more of a mix with an insane timeline to include them all. Now its obvious that Anniversary wont be occuring with 13, but when it does, its gonna be a fan boy orgasm.
as for single player vs mmo, im gonna make it simple. If you like to read or watch movies, then your a single player kinda guy. if you like competition more or just starve for social interaction, then mmo is for who. One will never be able to satisfy the other's audeince better. singe player tells you a story, and depending on the auother, it might be good. mmo is too lazy to make one up so they have you do it for them.
as for ff's being lame since ff7, the fanboy in me wants to flame OMFG U NUBS DONT EVEN KNOW! I wont because I know i like ff8 better for crazy fanboy reasons. But that doesnt count for ff12. ff's 7-10 have been about the same boy likes girl, has to save the world...and her...loveloloveolove. ff12 is totally different, it not made for the teen going through puberty anymore. Its about government, and FINALLY the 'bad guy' isnt one-dimensional so he can't even be considered evil, your nemisis is a REAL person.
end rant;
they anounced it on a thing i was watching on tv on this game channel saying the FFXIII will be the final game for final fantasy
Sure it'll end at some point, but by that point no one will be even looking at an FF label and they're sales on it will be 0 thus bankrupting them. Haha that doesnt look like it'll happen anytime soon but I still think they're gonna end it soon Maybe at ff20 or so.
It's good... not the most amazing game I've ever seen, but it does provide a decent amount of fun on multiplayer...
Halo single player > Halo2 single player
Halo 2 multiplayer > Halo multiplayer
I never beat the entire game, so I don't know about the ending.
Love Multiplayer, I hate both single players, halo and halo 2...
