I'm actually pretty sure you can enter the color tags with the alt key. I can't figure out what but I know the chrcode for them is like 1-8 and then some.

If you can do that then yes you can use them.

The_Effect, and UBCS. Notepad does not directly affect the map or the Starcraft Campaign Editor, therefore is allowed to be used.
But seriously, you don't have to prove how pathetic and ignorant you are.

It's ok to get angry sometimes, but trying to inflict pain on others based on ignorance is unacceptable in a community such as this.

Please do not post, nor come back here, again, until you have learnt the english language and have exceeded the age of puberty.

Here's an FAQ for all the idiots posting repetitive questions.

Q: Can we use SCMDraft, Starforge, or even X-Tra editor?
A: No. All third party programs are banned from this contest. Using them will render your map disqualified. Anything found in your map that CAN NOT be done in the regular Starcraft Campaign Editor that came with Starcraft will render it disqualified. Staredit-related files can not be changed to alter the way the editor works.

Q: Can we use coloured text?
A: Coloured text is just text. You can copy and paste the "codes" from anything into your map. The colour codes are not added by a program, and are simple copy/paste figures, so they are allowed to be used in the contest. The colour codes can also be inserted by using your keyboard with currently unknown ALT-code combinations.

Q: Can I use Xtra-Editor just to do... -- ?
A: If it can't be done in the regular Starcraft Campaign Editor, your map is disqualified.

Q: We can protect our maps after, right?
A: No. Protecting your map proves you have used a 3rd Party Program to complete it, therefore disqualifies your entry.

Q: How do I enter/[Sign up for] the contest?
A: By submitting a completed map to Syphon via Private Message located in the User Control Panel.

Q: Is there an entry fee?
A: There was an entry fee, but it has been revoked. There is no longer an entry fee.

Keep in mind that using other programs are possible to detect based on what you have modified in the map.

Tada. Nobody said you can't open existing maps in normal StarEdit and, ahem, borrow tags. The same should go for scripts and P9-P12 triggers.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-10-10 at 10:14:58
Openning trigger files to gain access to "invalid" triggers shouldn't be allowed, as it is considered part of your map and must be completed outside of the normal editor.

If it is invalid, the editor would delete it. wink.gif

Just a question, do the map have to be unprotected when we submit it?

It does delete (fix) certain parts when you edit all the fields of that trigger.

But that does not make it invalid to the Editor.

And it can't be done in regular Starcraft Campaign Editor because you'd need to use a third party program to make it (if you downloaded the package, then you are just asking someone else to make it for you).

The colors for the force/title are completely different than the ones inside the game. In the force/title the one for green is red and there are two greens and no yellow...bla bla bla. So keep in mind that PCFredZ colors are for IN THE GAME only.

No, the tags are the exact same ones, but some create different colors.

Sorry since this problem is either obvious or was already answered, but are we alllowed to use x-tra editor even tho it's considered "third party"? Like being able to use color and text schemes should be allowed right?

Can't you understand that no other programs than staredit means no other programs can be used. Just recall the times when you had nothing but staredit. This is more ideas and imagination content so colors and stuff won't change anything as they are not featured in staredit.
