Alright. I felt compelled to finish the behind the scenes porition of the script. You now have the ability to request additions to the tutorial script. When I feel less lazy, I'll somehow add the ability to request changes.

So now I need one or two tutorial keepers. Positions are open to anyone reputable, is good with triggers, can write in excellent english, and knows how to make things look pretty. You can apply by sending me a pm of how you would format tutorials... let's say:
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?tutorial=3
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?tutorial=113
and
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?tutorial=96

Anyways, this thread is open to comments, suggestions, and bugs for the script.

Dang it, i already submitted my tutorial and no one's currently obligated to review it!

So what exactly do these tutorial keepers do rather than just watch over the entire tutorials database? Do they actually look at the submitted tutorials and check/fix them before actually letting them in like poeple would with the DLDB? Or what?

I could do some i guess, i dont mind doing both the DLDB and the Tutorials
Ill send my PM soon

I can make things look purdy and neat, i'm pretty good when it comes to english and using words that most people can understant and i have a really good reputation tongue.gif, i'll give this a shot.

But ah darn, i don't compress my WAV's because i believe it lowers the overall quality of a map, so i don't really understand what that's about. cry.gif

I'll write what i can in a new topic in the Clan (MC) forums.

Well, I'm definitely interested. However, I'm not into the hardcore aspect of the engine, like the negative shield and all it's effects and ramifications on the game. I'll the do the first two, and then submit my guide I made for making Lord of the Rings maps. You can have a look at that smile.gif.

I sent my application already quite some time ago. I sent the 3 tutorials seperately.

I sent a application about three or four days ago, still no reply. You must be REALLY busy :P.

Anyways. I submitted a lengthly and very handy grid tutorial. But there is no one to manage the TDB. So I'm waiting to see if I make the position.

Great job IP ^_^ . It looks much better than the last one. (No offence meant Sala.)

*Max looks at the submit a tutorial page* Now I don't know about you, but I don't know what it means for the id for a "Related File from the DLDB", nor do I know the PID (Post ID). Adding an example to this would help me understand what this means.
Giving an example of what a worthy skill level of "0", "3", and "5" is like would be a good idea, too!

If/when a person becomes a tutorial database keeper, will they have a special name effect like the DLDB keeper's do?

Also, I am on SEN every day for at least 30 minuets and I think I have good english. Although I haven't submitted a tutorial yet, I am making a in-depth one.
Although I have very little knowledge of HTML and I don't have any knowledge of PHP, I wouldn't mind managing the tutorial database.

IP, how about attachment ID or should we submit the map to experimental?

Sala didn't make the last one, he just managed it.

Hmmmm... Most tutorials probably won't need an example map... But I see you're point. I'm sure there are a few tutorials that a map might be nice but it wouldn't exactly belong in the dldb. I'll think about a solution.

Gasp, you speak.
So, did anyone make the position for TDB keeper yet?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SA_Max71 on 2005-02-10 at 22:17:49
If there isn't a tutorial database keeper yet and the demand is high enough, why not make a vote like the one that was made that download database keeper?

Thanks for correcting me IP. smile.gif

Rexy, I posted in this topic http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=10544 accidently instead of posting it in here. While I could fix it, I'll just leave it because both threads will probably be closed soon anyways.

Anyways, LegacyWeapon has it as soon as I reenable the tutorial's group and do a final check on the admin section. Sorry smile.gif.

I have to say this; your use of the ":)" smiley is godly. Dunno how you always seem to use it in the right places...

Anyways, you can't win 'em all wink.gif. Good job, LW.
