Report, edit, etc...Posted by KhaosKreator on 2005-02-06 at 18:04:11
Hello, this is my first try at advanced terrianing, and I would like some advice/tips.

Here is my waterfall. (It is badlands terrian, by mistake)

And in a different map, I made 2 levels of temple, in water, connected by a staircase.

Tell me what you think of it. As I am new at this.

This is Odd.
This is your first time and 2 of your maps have been accepted in the Terain hall of Fame.

The third one could be less blocky and the second one in the area near the Temple sprite could be coverd up a bit better. Other than that, I've never seen such a concept like the one in the second picture before.

Very nice, very smooth all around great. My only suggestion is try to use a few less sprites.

Here's a large diamond mine I made.

The blue doodad in the bottom left corner seems out of place, but in-game it moves/animates to look like a drill.

So basically my terrian is great, excepting my overuse of sprites.

You'll notice that I used much less in my diamond mine... Although I could probably remove some 20% of them and not mess up the quality.

*Gets back to tweaking* yucky.gif

Really you don't go too far with sprites man. You did a good job in the placeing of them.
