Every piece of terrain in the hall of fame is the same or already has been done and isnt really original... all they are, are a ramp, maybe a couple jungle doodads, repeating waterfalls and bridge blending, i think we should only put original idea's in there that we havn't seen...?

Orgionality should totally factor into hall of fame choosings.

Then why is Oo.Br0sT.oO's first picture there? Why is E)s-Fury's picture in there? Why is your terrain there? Why is KhaosKreator's waterfall there? Why is ShadowBrood's terrain in there?

If you're looking for good terrain, then why are you picking out average terrain?

I think 1 picture of each type of terrian should be in the HoF, which can be updated when better pictures come in.

I wouldn't mind having my pic come down as long as there was only 1 waterfall pic, and it was the first or best pic available.

Agreed. There should be one terrain picture per category, with new categories added as new types are posted. Categories should also be alphabetical.

And if someone makes a better version of that same terrain, it would be replaced. Then, out of all the best terrain pieces, you decide which one deserves to be on the banner.

You should rate it exactly like the terrain contest to find out which should go up.

I think its cool to see subtle differences in terrains... perhaps if it was ordered from top 3 in each category? Though most waterfalls for example are very similar, the differences between them make some stand out and look cooler. No reason not to say: "The only good waterfall ever made." Perhaps even make a seperate topic in a hall of fame subforum of terrain with each category and a poll for each.

Wow dude, why is everyone telling me too shut up? I was supporting void, asking why arn't there original idea's instead of the same oh terrain we see all the time. I say we take the best water fall and remove the rest...seems fair to me. I was not trying to get personal with anyone, why do you continue to push personal problems?

Seriously though, the hall of fame needs to raise the bar a tad.

I agree, but i will admit that is the best we've seen so far...So maybe in the future we could raise the bar, but for now we should keep it the same.

Only the best gets into the hall of fame and right now that is the best.

What kind of categories would you make? Terrains can come in an infinite number of varieties.

I am looking for the best and not for the most original.

It's not considered good terrain if it's been done in every map being made...people would be like "man this terrain is getting old" or "i've seen this terrain in to many maps", people should actually start using tiles from all over the pallette to create something new with blending and not alot of spites, like DK's Temple or that funny ice temple i'm working on . If we keep what's happening up then people will lose interest in terraining...

What i see is extended terrain, maybe should put into groups like rest said, sprite Terrain, Extended, Normal so on.

Basicly you are saying if I manage to make a Bridge on a Waterfall, which leads to a House with path, scenery garden, window, doors, craskc in the bridge and fish in the river it's good.

But if 4 people do it then it's pretty bad terrain.

Hell no, if it's good it's good no matter how many people do it.

Man I feel so inadequate when it comes to terrain now. Us Mac users can't do the awesome SF terrain so we do the best that we can with good ol' isometrical terrain. Is that not good enough for you people?
