I just finished making my awesome Signature! It took many screenshots from SC, but it was worth it! If you want me to make you a signature, PM me.

My current signature is a JPG, and the uploaded one is a GIF. Which format do you prefer?

Yeah, I debated it a while myself. The GIF looks cleaner because it only has a selective pallete (only uses the main colors in the pic) but the JPG has better shading. The GIF is a bit choppier though, and the JPG looks like its on a TV screen (the color changes a bit where there were no changes before).
I see why Blizzard uses PCX...

.Gif is better for smaller pictures and pictures more heavily weighted with Text

While .jpg is a better formatt if you're using minimal Text.

Don't forget only gifs can be animated. Upon inspection, the JPG has higher a quality picture but use whichever you want.

Ya these signatures are awesome!

Wish mine didn't look so blurry and crappy! Wondering what I did wrong? it's in gif form? I could experiment and start fiddling around myself, but sure seems a lot easier to ask a trained eye for advice first.

Thanks Yoshi, I didn't realize how large it appeared. It actually looks better smaller too.

(unrelated) I have to say, thank you all for actually listening to the signatue rules and instructions. Only certain people every month or so think they're above the law, but fitting your sigs in a compact area makes forum viewing so much better.

i'd like to say .jpg is better because it has "millions" of colors, thus you get no color distortation. but then again BMP 24 is also ok. see, my siggy (down there) i dunno wtf it is, btu sometime on this site, when i accses it with dialup, it liek changes it to like a diffrent format, and it looks really distorted, but when you get a higher speed connection, it loads proporly, and its in .jpg format and if you ask me, it looks great. you can see all the details.
