Select Gradient Tool
Set Gradient Blend Options to Difference (at the top)
Go nuts with the gradient tool
Filter>Stylize>Find Edges
CTRL+B (PC only) Color Balance and modify colors to your liking.

Sweet! It looks a little bit more like split ice here, though. You should make an action for that (last tab of layers pallette).
