im sure you people heard people tell you that if you die in your dreams, you die in real life

two questions

is it possible to die in a dream?

if you do die in a dream, do you die in real life?

wow. this seems alot like a the matrix.
truth be told? i've never heard someone tell me that "if i die in my dreams, that i would die in real life."

does it happen? who knows. have you ever heard someone say 'i died in my dream?"
if nobody said that they died in thier dream then i suppose you could come the conclusion that when we die in our dreams we seem to die in our sleep.

If you die in your dream, you wake up. It's impossible to prove since you can't detect someone's dream, but I did have a dream where I died. I instantly woke up with my heart pounding.

What aznwolfstein says is true (or so, some scientifics says so). The lil hic, though, is that basicaly you're the only one that can confirm this theory, and you cannot really know if you did die or not. So it's like... A very dumb theory.

did you actually die or did the dream cut off just before dying?

I believe its possible, because i've heard of people feeling pain in there dreams, by getting hit, or hiting somthing in there dreams, infact that happens to me, if in a dream i get injured or hurt in some way i'll feel it when i wake up

If Freddy kills you in your dream then you die in real life.

I died once in a dream. My 'soul' kept on living in another plane of existance however. One which I could see everything that was previously around me but could not interact with it. It was a very strange dream.

But most dreams that end in me dying cause me to suddenly wake up. And yes, I do die in them.

I've died in dreams and haven't died in real life.

Let's see - I've been stabbed, run over, shot and drowned in dreams before. I woke up or ended up in a totally different dream every time.

One time my throat was slit. I remember thinking "I'm dying" as I looked at my corpse. I woke up.

you people are lucky, you don't have to feel pain in real when you feel it in dreams, btw i hope i don't run into old freddy in my dreams lol

I remember hitting my head one time in a dream, it felt real until I fully woke up.

It's hard to say if you die or not if you dream about it.

Never died in a dream. Guess its because I can't imagine how it is to be dead, and dreams is just imagination. Almost died in a dream once. A cannibal in a truck drove after me to eat me. I ran right in front of the truck on a narrow road. He never caught me though, don't know why, he had a truck to follow me and I was running. Didn't wake up either. Actually I've never had a real nightmare. Really strange...

everytime i am about to die in a dream i tend to wake up moments before

Nothing happends to you in real life, and you dont really die in dreams. From my experence, i wake up just before i die in a dream. Ususally ive fallen from a humongous hight, but ive been shot and taken over by an outside spirit(the spirit dream was wierd...). Anyhoo, the point is that in dreams you cant die and not be living, your dream ends suddendly and it gives you an impression that you died, or would have.

Has anyone ever had 'paralysis' dreams where you feel like you're awake but can't move a muscle?

I've had them many times. I panic and then I 'wake up' after a few seconds.

There is no proof of this, however, I have had several dreams where I have nearly died, usually from high distances. I wake up when I am about 10 feet above the ground, when I wake up, I am extremely scared and my heart is pounding, it hasn't happened recently, but there really is no proof that this is true, however, it seems like it could be true. However, it makes sense that you never die in your dreams, because you only die once, and you can't know the experience of it. But, however, if you HAVE experienced death, you COULD die in your dream, but the only time that would actually be possible if you WERE dying at the time. So yes, I believe if you die in your dreams, you will die in real life, but you never will wake up.

Yes, what's usually happenening is I am viewing many small lights pass by me. A lot like the starfield simulation screensaver, except smaller lights that move faster. I also feel very cold. I generally realize that I am sleeping and struggle to wake up, it isn't until I stop struggling and try to fall into a deeper sleep am I able to wake myself up, however.

I also had a few very strange events happen to me that cause me to believe there may be an afterlife. Basically I would go to sleep, then start to realize that I am sleeping and become like half awake. Then it would feel like something or someone is ripping me out of my body. A long struggle would ensue, etc. I'm not going to go into detail about what happened because no would would believe me after that. The thing is, I would wake up the next day completely exhausted and sore all over my body.

I died in a dream by getting shot (ouch) and I just saw my body laying there from 3rd person view..

It's very wierd, you can "Feel" the gunshot hit your body..

I also dreamed a volcano from nowhere erupted. I got lava on my finger, screamed to death. I woke up, and my finger was burnt (it was red, and a week later bruised)
(I swear to you, that is no lie, it occured like a year ago).


Dreams are just imaginations, just thoughts in your minds.

Don't ever think you can die by dieing in dreams.



But yet the mystery of my burnt finger yet to be solved.. Maybe my brother came in my room and lit my finger on fire. I dunno :P

ive dreamt that i died only once, i no longer dream, only nightmares once in a while, i feel dead at night....

If death in a dream would kill you in "reality", i would be some living dead no longer threatened by death.
Dreams are influenced by what happens in "reality", example: I remember having a dream about me caught in a sea of flames, and absolutely needing fluid to survive any longer.. I had high fever then, and woke up with a really bad thirst. Once I also had a very intense imaginary threat of death being only half conscious, I was really sick then, with insane fever. It was quite scary, I tell you .
Anyway, I think dying (in reality) while dreaming would cause you to dream about dying.

My dreams are usually about ghost. I usually jsut run away ... and eventually ill get scared and wake up with my heart beating fast. *Then i go in my parents room and sleep between them****JK**** Usually when i have a dream about getting shot , punched or hurt somewhere i wake up and feel that place on my body hurting in real life. IT's always because i slept the wrong way. Like if my leg was shot in my dream i would wake up with my leg numb because i slept on it the wrong way * like getting pin& needles.
