Staredit Network -> Terrain -> Made a mistake?

First off, I know that I use sprites in my terrains an such but there are two different ways to use them:
  • Cover-up
    • Most of the time this is what everyone uses them for. Since we are messing with terrain and doing things never done before, of course our pieces may be blocky or just have one part that makes no sense.
Please Note: Everyone is guilty of this.
  • Character
    • What separates good terrainers from great ones is how they use sprites. If you see sprites not as a cover-up, but as a decoration, or flavor-adder then, then you are that much better off.
Basically what I am trying to say is that people have to stop using sprites as a crutch and more as a resource. This will lead to better terrain being produced from us all.

This is not a flame, it's a pointer biggrin.gif.

Most of people use them correctly, their are just some noobs that use them werdly when they start, wich isn't that much. For the blocking thing, yes most of the time we do, but we arrange it so it still looks good.
