Alright guys and girls, we have a new system for submitting files which forces people to compress wavs and limits map types submitted.

My job for all of you, is to expose bugs and errors for testing. Have fun!

Yep, I found a bug (already)! I can not edit any of my replys I have uploaded. These replys have been accepted into the DLDB. When I attempt to submit the changes, I can not. I get this error:

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:

The category was left empty or an invalid category was selected. Please click your browser's back button and fill in the form completely.

I can not select anything because the category doesn't have any options available. Here is what it looks like (before I submit the changes): [attachmentid=5404]
In case you are wondering, I am using IE.

I also have a feeling this problem exists when it comes to uploading files, but I haven't tested that (yet?).

ADDITION:
Also, no offence, but I didn't know what this topic's name meant until I read the post. Please don't ban me, oh great and powerful admin! scared.gif

Did you go through downloads db > add files > *choose type*?

If you access another part, yeah, it wont submit.

No, I didn't do that.

Oh I see the problem. Before, people were able to move categories freely from directory to directory if they edited their post. Hell, you could of added your maps to featured way back when.

I disabled the category changing, but forgot to remove the checking of it and the html display.

I told that to IP fixed that way back in november where people used to submit under the UMS category instead of Bound, defense etc...

I can still do that right?

All done. You can now properly submit and edit your files.

IP did fix it, but editing your files would enable you to put your map in another directory, which we do not want.

Yes, DLDB Keepers and admins are still as godly as ever. We have the ability to move files around and do whatever.

I think this is a huge bug. At least, I think it is unfair to the DLDB keepers (especially Beer). I have read that beer likes to download all of his maps to one folder. He then uses tileedit to take a screen shot of the map, and the screen shot is placed in a different folder. I believe he uses some sort of macro program to do this. If it's in a zip, then he has to do it manually.

I tried to submit a .scx map, but it wouldn't let me. I couldn't upload this file until I put it into a .zip file. THis is the error I got: [attachmentid=6178]

I didn't edit the picture at all. Notice the text at the top of the page, and notice the drop down menus are pretty distorted.

Also, I think it would be a good idea for the option to be unselected. In other words, I think it is a good idea to add a option of unselecting the "What type of map files are in the zip?*". If you don't do this, you might as well as remove the option of uploading .scx and .scm maps.

ADDITION:
I have also noticed that some downloads have a link to their name, while other downloads don't. Take the program editors for example. I could understand why there isn't a link to general mensk's profile, but I don't understand why there isn't a link to SI's profile.

Here is what I mean:[attachmentid=6179]

This is a major issue I have to address.
